Saturday morning coffee

I’m willing to be that as much as my readers love dogs, a lot of you are jealous of that cute puppy posing pretty atop his handsome Dad who appears to be drinking from a rainbow, unicorn coffee mug.

BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, exercise for your brainEach Friday, I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I posted this last year. Do you remember it? Give this week’s riddle a try and leave your best guess as a comment. I’ll approve answers later in the day.

This week’s brain teaser: Using the name of a certain fruit — in the plural. Change the second letter to an L and read the result backward. You’ll name two things you can drink. Name the fruit and drinks.

Here’s a hint it is a very popular fruit with Millennials.

Vintage gay

I have included photos of Alan Ginsberg and Peter Orlovsky in the past but I’ve never seen this photo which dates back to “a hot summer day” in 1956. The two had met about 18 mos before in December of 1954 and would remain together as a couple until Ginsberg’s death in 1997. Orlovsky would die thirteen years later in Vermont in 2010.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

Caption this photo

Much thanks to my friend and longtime reader, Jim L, for this week’s photo. Hopefully the caption I’ve shared below from The Village People hit song, “In the Navy”, inspires you to offer up one or two of your own. Leave a funny caption in the comment section, and I’ll approve it for readers to enjoy.

Leave your answer in the comment section. I’ll approve responses later in the day to give people a chance to respond without seeing any spoilers. This week’s riddle is a tough, but don’t be discouraged. The riddle comes from a past episode of NPR’s Sunday Puzzle and was shared by Dan Pitt of Palo Alto, California.

This week’s brain teaser: Take the common abbreviation for a major American city. Insert it inside an airport code for that city. And you’ll name a flower. What flower is it?
