According to a Gallup poll, the percentage of Americans who believe marriage equality should be recognized by the law has increased dramatically from approximately 28% in 1996 to approximately 54% of the general population in 2011.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll reinforces this trend by showing that the strength of support for marriage equality outstrips the strength of opposition. Today, 39% of Americans strongly support marriage equality while only 32% strongly oppose it.

It will be interesting to see how same sex marriage ballot initiatives fare this November in the four states featured in the above graphic.

Think your vote doesn’t matter?  Think again.  Same Sex marriage is just one issue that is on the ballot this November that directly impacts the lives of people you know and love.  Take your right to vote seriously.

Considering the series of foreign policy missteps from  Romney’s campaign, I wonder if he regrets the resignation of Richard Grenell – his initial foreign policy spokesperson. Grenell was forced out in May because he is gay and Romney wanted to appease the Christian Conservatives he continues to pander to.  One cannot help but wonder if Grenell was still working for Romney if his foreign policy gaffes would have even happened.

You reap what you sow Mr. Romney. You should’ve kept Grenell, because you look like a bumbling amateur right now.

Mitt Romney was videotaped without his knowledge at a fundraiser recently.  MotherJones, a liberal website, released the tape last night.  Here is an excerpt of what he said.

There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax…[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.

Last week a poll taken by the Western New England University Polling Institute reported that Elizabeth Warren is now leading the Republican incumbent, Senator Scott Brown.

The lead is attributed to Warren’s prominent speaking role at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).  The lead would be welcome news to Warren and her supporters since prior to the DNC polls showed she was trailing Senator Brown.

Michele Bachmann, is a US Congresswoman from Minnesota’s 6th district.  For those unfamiliar with Rep. Bachmann, I would describe her as a whack-job. She speaks for the most conservative and xenophobic elements of the Republican Party.

Earlier this week Minnesota Public Radio reported Bachmann’s race for re-election was not going smoothly. She is still considered likely to win, but news the Democrat is closing the gap is good news.  Do you live in Minnesota or know someone who does?  Share this facebook link from the Democrat running to unseat Bachmann.
