One week from today The Boston Ballet 2015-2016 season will open with the epic Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler: A Ballet by John Neumeier. In anticipation of the new season and to celebrate the beautiful aerial sculpture suspended over The Rose Kennedy Greenway by Janet Echelman last week twelve male Boston Ballet dancers created a moving pyramid from the ballet’s first movement.

The 40th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be celebrated with a Midnight showing Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square. You may purchase your tickets online here.

Last week I posted a video of Max Emerson – actor, writer, director and (my favorite) underwear model – doing an ab work out in the buff (watch it here).
You could say he was showing off his assets to raise money for a film called, Hooked, that focuses on LGBT homeless youth. I’ve just made a personal donation of $50 to show my support for this project and I know it would mean the world to Max if you would help spread the word and provide a small donation too.

STONEWALL is a drama about a fictional young man caught up during the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
The movie has created a lot of discussion in the LGBTQ community, including talks of a boycott. The criticisms center around the film’s decision to remove several key roles of queer women of color and in particular a black transwoman who played a significant role in the real Stonewall riots. Other leaders within the LGBTQ community, like Larry Kramer, have said that the fact the movie has been made is something to be proud of and to support.
