Halloween season, haunted houses and more

Halloween, Boston, Provincetown, Providence, OgunquitTis the season to scare the crap out of oneself. While I’m no expert on this sort of thing, I’ve done some digging to share with you information about haunted houses in the area that you can visit. I’ve not attended any of these locations so share your comments to help others pick and choose the best haunted house.

Below the listing of haunted houses you’ll also find a number of ‘activities’ for visiting Salem, MA this month and below that there is more information about Halloween themed attractions in New England.

Boston area haunted houses, haunted houses New England

Barrett’s Haunted Mansion is in Abington MA. Oct 23rd  they will host their special Darkness Unleashed, which requires advance ticket purchase and Devil’s Night on Oct 30th. Sunday thru Thursday they have a $5 off coupon on their tickets page of their website, bhmansion.com.

Spooky World may be the largest haunted house in the area. This year Spooky World presents “Nightmare in New England”. Based on feedback I read online, it seems like you will want to purchase either their VIP or Super VIP tickets, but these come at a hefty price, starting at $65 (VIP) or $80 (Super VIP) on Friday and Saturday nights. For more information visit their website Spookyworld.com.

Six Flags Fright Fest 2017 runs through October 28th. Enjoy thrills and activities throughout the day and come back for a truly frightening evening of fun after the sun goes down

scary, salemFew cities or towns in the world embrace the Halloween holiday like Salem, MA. For those who have never visited this town in October, I would highly recommend it. When I was in my 20s a friend of mine had an apartment overlooking the Salem Common and I’d go to his annual Halloween party. They remain some of my favorite memories.Visiting Salem? Check out the following:

Voodoo and Vampires & Ghosts Walking Tour
Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery: A horror museum
Chambers of Terror
HYSTERIA: Haunts & Horrors w/ Mentalist Christopher Grace
“Festival of the Dead” Psychic Fair and Witches Market
