Boston Ballet The Nutcracker opens this week

Boston Ballet NutcrackerFriday, November 27th – the day after Thanksgiving – Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker  opens at Boston’s Opera House.  A few years ago Mikko Nissinen and the Boston Ballet updated their production of the classic tale set to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky.  This is a classic holiday tradition that I highly recommend. Tickets are very affordable, starting at $35 and performances run through December 31st.  Check out the video below of the Boston Ballet’s Snow Scene – like you’ve never seen it before – from The Nutcracker.

Furry Santa

Gay, hairy chest, hunk, naughty SantaI am away in Brazil celebrating the Christmas and New Year holiday with Sergio’s family.  However, I did want to wish anyone who happens to stop by my blog a Merry Christmas.  If you don’t celebrate the holiday then just appreciate the image for its sex appeal.

Have a great day and thank you for visiting my blog.

T’was the night before Christmas

Merry ChristmasWell its not quite night in Boston just yet, but it will be before I realize it so I wanted to wish everyone who celebrates the holiday a relaxing evening and pleasant Christmas tomorrow.

It seems odd to be in Brazil, I’ve become accustomed to our tradition of hosting a cocktail party in Boston for friends and feel like I should be running to the liquor and grocery store right about now.  However, I want to let friends (near and far) know that my thoughts are with them even though we are miles apart.

Where to grab grub on Christmas in Boston

Chef CookingAfter I wrote the post about EaterBoston’s list of restaurants open and serving dinner on Christmas Eve they went ahead and created another post, offering tips on where you can go for dinner on Christmas Day.  While this is not a complete list, it does give you some options if you are hungry and want to get out of the house.

Santa placed me on his naughty list

Christmas, holiday humorSanta has been angry at me ever since I bumped into him at The Boatslip Tea Dance in Provincetown this summer and told him he can’t be a Furry Friday until he loses a little more weight.

The colors of Christmas: Silver and Gold

handsome, hunk, shirtless Did yesterday’s post, The colors of Christmas: Red and Green not quite get you into the Christmas spirit? Maybe you are looking for a more classic holiday combination like silver and gold. Hopefully this will spread some holiday cheer and help you look forward to the Christmas holiday. Now go and stream Michael Bublé’s Christmas album or replay his television special from last week.

Santa Speedo Run video makes the rounds

Santa Speedo Run coverage, SSRThe video I created for the Santa Speedo Run last Saturday proved to be quite the boon garnering ~25,000 views in the first 5 days.  I wanted to take a moment to recognize and thank some of the news outlets and blogs that shared my video with their readers.  With a special thanks going to bloggers, David (WGB), Kenneth (Kenneth in 212)Joe (JMG) as well as my friend, Jim Clerkin (KISS 108) and Huffington Post.

I would welcome the opportunity to talk to local media outlets – esp. those that focus on LGBT life or those that would like to be more inclusive. If you have any contacts or work at a local media group let me know.

Toys for Joys party another huge success

T4J Boston, Toys for Joys Boston, Toys 4 JoysThe annual Toys for Joys party was a great success.  This year the event moved to accommodate a larger crowd and was hosted at the Revere Hotel’s Space 57 in Bay Village.  The Toys for Joys party has no long speeches and you are not repeatedly asked to ‘open your check book one more time.’  It is a fresh take on fundraising that focuses on socializing and bringing our community together, making it accessible all – not just people able to write large checks.  If you missed the event, I hope to see you there in 2015. Learn more about T4J here.
