Some mornings are more difficult than others to get out of bed.

So Hot Saturday heats up with a Pokemon Go Party is happening in Dorchester at Peggy O’Neil’s at 1312 Dorchester Ave in the Savin Hill gayborhood. For more information check out their Facebook event page here.
I want to dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.
With Provincetown, Ogunquit, Newport and the islands it is easy to forget about Vermont as a gay-friendly summer destination where you and someone special or a group of friends can get away and forget about life for a few days.
Gay travelers have been heading to Southern Vermont’s swimming holes at Rock River to enjoy the natural beauty and serenity that comes from spending time in the Green Mountain State. While there are several gay friendly B&Bs in the area Frog Meadow Country B&B owned by Dave & Scott looks like it might be a fun place to base a trip if you are not into camping.
Sergio and I have put this destination on our list of places to check out since neither of us have visited before. Have you visited Rock River or Frog Meadow B&B? Please share any tips in the comments section.
With temperatures this past Saturday in the mid 90s, the Boston’s gay softball team pool party at the Manhunt Mansion could not have been better timed. While the Manhunt pool parties have become popular summer fundraisers, this was easily the most crowded I’ve seen.
In spite of the crowd, the pool party may have been the best I can recall attending. The final Manhunt pool party (quite possibly forever since the mansion will possibly go on the market soon) will take place this Saturday with funds raised going to Boston’s gay rugby team, Boston Ironsides. For more details about the pool party visit the event page: Manhunt Pool Party.
Later this week BAGLY – Boston Alliance for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth – will celebrate their 36th anniversary.
Join them from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27th for complimentary food and cake. There will also be a short video sharing the history of this first of it’s kind gay youth support group and non-profit based here in Boston.
You can find out more about the anniversary celebration from their Facebook event page, BAGLY Anniversary Party!
Join the Boston Blizzard Softball team and friends at the Manhunt Mansion Pool Party from 2PM – 6PM today. Tickets are $25.00 at the door and include a catered BBQ, open bar with beer & wine and plenty of great music from Boston DJ Begbick. For more details visit their Facebook event page here.
Last month I wrote about HBO’s finale to the short lived gay drama, Looking. Tomorrow, Saturday, July 23rd the movie will premiere and for those of you who were a fan of the series (like yours truly), I wanted to remind you to set your DVRs to record. I’m curious to see how HBO ties up the loose ends and what happens with the characters.
What we know based on what HBO has shared to date in their movie trailer is that Patrick returns to San Francisco to attend a friend’s wedding after having moved away. When he sees his former boyfriends old feelings emerge and the closure he thought he had now doesn’t seem so clear. For those unfamiliar with the series that lasted for two seasons, below is one of the teasers HBO shared to promote the first season (BTW both seasons are on demand if you have HBO).
