Sip The Rainbow: P-town to Boston preview party is Friday, May 15th
Mark your calendars, because one month from today on Friday, May 15th, the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will host their annual Sip The Rainbow celebration at their building in Bay Village at 122 Arlington Street.
This year’s theme is Provincetown. As a result, the party will include tasty treats and craft cocktails from some of Provincetown’s favorite chefs and mixologists. The evening will also showcase the sites of Provincetown as part of an ongoing photography exhibit at BCAE, entitled P-town to Boston: A Photo Exhibit ; the exhibit will run through September 30, 2015.
Please read: Tickets are $15 / person in advance or $20 on the day of the event. I couldn’t figure out how to purchase tickets online from the BCAE website, but you can purchase tickets over the phone during business hours if you call (617)649-1357.

Jacques to ask Boston Licensing Board to change their liquor license
UniversalHub reported over the weekend that Jacques Cabaret in Bay Village will go before the Boston Licensing Board today to get permission to change their liquor licence, which currently requires that they serve food.
Yesterday, Jacques had to explain to the same board why the Boston Police caught them on March 2nd not offering food to customers. FYI – Jacques doesn’t even have a kitchen or food-preparation area, which begs the question, how did they get a liquor license that requires they serve food in the first place?
Jacques has a long, rocky history with neighbors who have complained about noise and loitering outside and nearby the cabaret. I hope that they can manage to get this licensing issue straightened out quickly. While I may not visit Jacques it is the only remaining drag bar in Boston, and I would hate to see them penalized or worse over this issue.
