This week’s temptation will appeal to jock-lovahs or those who like men with killer bodies and pouty lips.

Earlier this week HBO issued another teaser for the second season of Looking, which returns Sunday, January 11, 2015. I’m not a fan of the 30-minute format for dramas, but I eventually did get hooked on the series. Do you plan on watching Season 2 of Looking?
Now that the Thanksgiving holiday is firmly in the past, I wanted to post my annual holiday reminder / request to boycott the Salvation Army by not sharing your spare change with the organization. Just outside malls and retail stores around the country are Salvation Army volunteers who will ask for your spare change to help with their charity work.
My annual reminder / request to boycott Salvation Army
I like to remind people that The Salvation Army is an Evangelical Christian group with a homophobic history and leadership. While they do provide meaningful services to the poor there are many organizations who do this as well (without the evangelical bent that preaches Leviticus and how homosexuality is a sin). These other charities would greatly benefit from your support no matter how small the donation.
If you feel the same as I do, you may even consider speaking to the mall / store manager to ask if they would grant the space to a more accepting charity.
I have previously shared this very Not Safe For Work video and like to re-post it from time to time because I think there is some truth to this very funny video, which parodies the pharmaceutical advertisements you see on television today.
“Black Friday” refers to the Friday after Thanksgiving Day and traditionally signifies the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the United States, although in recent years holiday sales have started even prior to Thanksgiving. As a result, Black Friday is routinely the busiest shopping day of the year.
I’m not sure about you, but I’m not much of a shopper (and I detest shopping when it is crowded) so this is more my kind of Black Friday. Have a great day.
Twenty-five years ago in November 1989, Governor Michael Dukakis signed a bill banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in housing, employment, credit, and access to restaurants and other businesses. It may be hard to appreciate this milestone but this was an amazing victory for our community and would distinguish Massachusetts as a gay rights leader in the nation.
With the stroke of the pen the Massachusetts Governor ended a nasty 17-year battle and our state became only the second in the nation to pass a law protecting the employment and other rights of gays and lesbians. The Boston Globe has a great article addressing this major milestone worth reading, A key moment in gay rights fight.
Nobody is good looking enough for me to be able to get beyond someone this dumb. I’m flummoxed by both his confusion of the Middle East and a region of the US as well as his fourth grade-level spelling of the country Egypt.
