This past weekend Government Center hosted 20,000 music fans for two consecutive days at an event called Boston Calling. The music festival was so successful that the organizers, Crash Line Productions, announced a second Boston Calling Music Festival will take place on, September 7-8. For more information about the Labor Day weekend line up read here.
Note: Early bird tickets for Boston Calling will go on sale Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at The Sinclair or Royale box offices (no service charge) or online at www.bostoncalling.com. General admission weekend passes start at $120 and VIP weekend passes are $325. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Music Therapy Program at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Kelly Rowland performs at the Wilbur Theatre later this week on Wednesday, May 29th. No doubt she’ll be singing her new single, Dirty Laundry, which can be download from iTunes starting tomorrow. Tickets can be purchased here.
The two day music festival, Boston Calling 2013, is already underway and will continue rain or shine through tomorrow with some great musical acts. Are you attending this sold out event?

Check out this hilarious video from Katie Goodman’s Broad Comedy was posted last year. I hadn’t seen this until JoeMyGod brought my attention to it. I love the chorus “If you’re homophobic, you’re probably gay.”
Two former Berkelee College of Music students, Rhett Price and Josh Knowles, have made a full time job out of playing contemporary music on their violins for MBTA riders. Making a living as a full time busker can be tough, but these guys are clearly talented and I wish them continued success. Should you see these guys playing, please be generous and drop a few dollars in their violin case. You can read more about these guys in Steve Annear’s article, MBTA Performers Make a Living Playing Taylor Swift Songs on Violins for Riders.
You can also follow these guys on Facebook here.
Thanks to David over at WGB for posting this video on his FB page this weekend. I believe I’ve posted this video before but I love it (and Michael Buble) so I’m using this as an excuse to repost.
I’ve had Kylie on the brain all day, and this tribute video from the guys over at Randy Blue is a personal favorite. I can’t believe it was two years ago this month that Kylie Minogue kicked off the American leg of her Aphrodite Tour here in Boston. I hope she’ll come back before long, but til then I hope you enjoy this.
April 14th, 8pm at The Wilbur Theater in Boston
Hey Dancing Queen – yeah you… An ABBA Tribute show is coming to Boston on Sunday, April 14th. I know you’ll say Mama Mia and send out an S.O.S. if you miss them singing hits like Take A Chance On Me (okay I’ll stop, I’m aware of how annoying this is becoming).
NOTE: Tickets sales cut off Sunday, April 7th or when they sell out.
This summer tour will come to Boston this June. More information about the tour is here.
