Category Archives: People say the funniest things

I first posted this on my blog back in 2009, and since then, I’ve seen this make the rounds on the web. However, I still think this is hilarious.

If you find yourself at a Pride Rally or Gay Marriage Rally this summer (and you know there will be guys like this there)… Maybe this is something to consider. I know I wish I had thought of this back in 2003 when I was down at the Massachusetts State House to show my support for same-sex marriage.

Tweet of the Day: Trump

Lizz Winstead’s witty response deserves to be shared. For those who do not recognize her, she is a political satirist and co-creator of The Daily Show.

Label whore

Need I say more?
Thanks for the picture Andy.

Tweet of the Day: PAPP Smear

I re-Tweeted this from Kevin_byDesign…not sure of the origin, but I couldn’t pass it up. You may remember that Kevin was one of my #MenOfTwitter from last week. If you’re on twitter check him out. He’s handsome and funny.

Penis & IQ world map

No comment, but I’d like to hear yours. Click on image to enlarge
Last month I shared a Penis Size World Map. Since the map was so popular, I figured I’d share this graphic which compares the average size of men’s penis with the average IQ from that country. And just to clarify for those who asked the first time around… this is in cm’s not inches.

Mile High Madness w/ Air New Zealand

Oh my… Air New Zealand has a long history of creating inventive safety videos to ensure their passengers are paying attention. The latest incarnation includes Richard Simmons in a clip entitled, Mile High Madness

Past Videos: Bare Essentials

Past Videos: Rugby Rules

Favorite Tweet of the Day: Quotes

Josh (@MartyMations) is clearly a funny guy. I got a good chuckle out of this quote and so I thought I’d share it.

Favorite Tweet of the Day: Apologies

I thought this tweet from Adam on Twitter, @GayCurious, was so funny I’d retweet and share on my blog. I’ll have to circle back later and find out if Adam ever got the chance to socialize.

I’m f*cking Matt Damon

Do you remember this Sarah Silverman / Matt Damon video? I thought this was brilliant. Jimmy Kimmel (Sarah’s boyfriend at the time) showed his wit by quickly creating his own video, I’m f*cking Ben Affleck, which was equally funny.

If you’ve never watched the video – no fears this is the edited version. If you want, you can watch the uncensored version here.

Urban limericks

St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and The Boston Globe has listed popular limericks submitted by readers from last year. Limericks are typically witty poems (sometimes naughty) that follow the A-A-B-B-A rhyme pattern.

I’m sure most Americans (certainly anyone from New England) are familiar with the notorious limerick, Man from Nantucket, but I opted to share one of my favorite limerick’s submitted to the Globe last year by Christopher Russo of Boston.

From A Red Sox Fan (an optimist)
A summer we’ll spend at old Fenway,
Watching our team win both night and day.
What pitching! What defense!
It’s only commonsense–

If you feel inspired, include a favorite limerick in the comments section.

Deep thought

Sometimes it can be embarassing to ask for a helping hand.

Caption this picture

Not quite sure what to say about this photograph, but I couldn’t resist posting it since I thought it was so funny. I absolutely love the intensity on the face of the kid in the blue print shorts and black shoes; it looks like he’s sneezing. Maybe you would share a humorous caption in the comments section of this post.

Learning to speak "Boston"

People not born in or near Boston often get confused by a native’s accent and although I’ve successfully tamed my Boston accent (for the most part) my word choices are a dead give-away for anyone familiar with what I like to refer to as “Boston SLANGuage”.

The word wicked in recent years (at least in gay circles) conjures up images of a beautiful Broadway musical, but when a Bostonian says the word it has a very different meaning. Wicked, when uttered by a Bostonian (and by the way its said here with a great deal of frequency), is intended as a superlative to stress something. Growing up I probably said something was “Wicked Awesome” a few million times. While it would give my cousins from the mid-Atlantic pause, after a second or two they usually caught on.

How Heterosexual are you?

1% HeteroBosGuy is 1% Hetero

Yikes, I had no idea I was so easily pegged. Apparently my tweets, which include mentions of “brunch”, “cocktails” and “SouthEnd” have betrayed me! If you have Twitter you can check out how hetero you are by linking here.
