Sweaty men boxing

Sweaty Men BoxingWordPress lets me know what search engine terms are used to find my blog.  I don’t regularly check this data but yesterday I happened to take a glance and saw a couple of searches for”sweaty men boxing” that resulted in visits to my blog.

sweaty men boxingI cannot figure out how anyone would’ve stumbled upon BosGuy.com using those search terms. Nevertheless, I typed the terms to see if a link appeared. I couldn’t find a link on any of the first few pages of Google, but I thought I would say hello to the two of you who were looking for sweaty men boxing and tell you that I admire your perseverance.

In their honor I’ve posted a few photos that do appear when you type the search terms “sweaty men boxing”.

Deadspin article: Athletes you should bone instead of Cristiano Ronaldo

soccer, football, sports, athleteEarlier this month Deadspin posted this article, Athletes you should bone instead of Cristiano Ronaldo, and my brother emailed it to me saying it seemed more appropriate for my blog than Deadspin; I’m inclined to agree so I thought I’d give it the attention it deserves.

It seems like everyone who left a comment (worth perusing by the way) had an opinion or two to share about overlooked athletes so I’d suggest a few as well.  Let me know who you’d add to this list of athletes.

Jim Garoppolo is so handsome I might actually watch a Patriots game if Brady’s suspension isn’t overturned and he starts for New England.football, NFL, jock, hunk, handsome

How could a gay blog overlook Ben Cohen?  I’m deeply suspicious that the Deadspin author has no idea what he’s talking about since he overlooked Ben.Ben Cohen

I also have a bit of a crush on an Olympic athlete. The 27 year old Aussie bobsledder, Simon Dunn, currently lives and trains in Calgary, Canada.bobsledder, olympian, Australian

So who else would you add to this list?

Swoon: Jimmy Garoppolo of New England Patriots

Sharp Dressed ManFriends know that I don’t care for football and in the I fall arrange my grocery shopping each Sunday to coincide when the New England Patriots play so I can avoid the normal weekend crowds.

However, living in Boston, it is hard for even someone like me to completely avoid the endless discussions about Tom Brady’s recent fine and suspension.  I could not care less about the decision, but it has thrust the Patriot’s back up QB, Jim Garoppolo into the spotlight. I have to admit I had no idea who this guy was but I am developing a deep and abiding crush on this hunk.  Does Mr. Kraft have a casting couch for signing quarterbacks? Is it possible the New England Patriots have two of the best looking men in the NFL?  I think I’m in love.

Things that make BosGuy go hmm…

SportsIt has been a while since I’ve posted a hmm… post but I think you’ll agree that this is deserving.  Check out this clip of these two Rugby players below.  The guy on the left is Willie Mason and the player who walks up to him is Korbin Sims.

Maybe this is how Rugby players say hello.

Boston Marathon

Boston MarathonToday is Patriot’s Day, a holiday commemorating the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, but ever since 1897, Patriot’s Day has also been race day for the Boston Marathon. This year’s marathon marks the 119th anniversary of the Boston Marathon, making it the world’s oldest annual marathon.  It is also one of my favorite days to be in Boston. Even though the weather this year is cool and rainy, I’ll be celebrating by watching the Red Sox at Fenway and cheering on the marathon runners as they come into Back Bay.

Check out Boston Magazine’s Boston Marathon Guide

My congratulations to all the runners and sincere thanks to the Boston Athletic Association, city of Boston, the volunteers and first responders who help to make this world class event such a special day to me and everyone else in the city.

John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo is open

Boston MarathonPart of the Boston Marathon experience is the build up of excitement, starting the weekend before, as tens of thousands of visitors come to Boston ahead of the race, which takes place this Monday.   One of those events that is fun to check out (and free) is the three-day John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo at the Hynes Expo in Back Bay.  Last year, more than 100,000 attendees participated.

In addition to possibly meeting  some of the world’s top runners and fitness enthusiasts, the Expo also offers an opportunity for bargain shoppers looking for health and fitness related apparel and products.

900 Boylston Street, Boston

When:  Friday, April 17:  2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Get your tickets to the TWC takeover of Fenway Park on May 21st

Boston Red SoxOne of my favorite LGBT organizations, The Welcoming Committee, is planning a massive takeover of Fenway Park on Thursday, May 21st when the Red Sox play host for a night game with the Texas Rangers.

With more than a thousand bleacher seats reserved, join what could be TWC’s largest takeover in memory.  In true form, TWC, will host a pre-game “tailgate” by Who’s on First for those who are interested.  More details about the evening’s fun and how to purchase tickets online are available via the link included.

The Welcoming Committee Fenway Park Takeover – May 21st

Fenway Park home opener today at 3:05pm

Flashback Friday, Boston Red SoxThe Red Sox are off to a strong start in the first week of the 2015 MLB season. This past weekend they wrapped up their first series against the Jeter-less New York Yankees, where they beat them in dramatic fashion on Friday night, playing 19 innings in a game that lasted seven hours.

Today Fenway Park’s home opener for the 2015 Baseball season is today.  The Boston Red Sox will play host to the Washington Nationals who have struggled in their first week of play.  After this three game series, the Red Sox will play 22 consecutive games against American League East teams so I hope the team can maintain their intensity.

Red Sox season starts today

baseball, jock, hunkThe Boston Red Sox play their first game of the 2015 MLB season later today at 3:05 pm  in Philadelphia. Fenway Park’s home opener won’t be until the following Monday when they host Washington, D.C.’s Nationals.

Hopefully the weather will warm up in a hurry so it will be more enjoyable to visit Fenway Park, and here is to hoping that this season proves to be less frustrating than 2014 for Red Sox Nation.
