“Beach Bums”
Last week I published this post, Plan a New England foliage daytrip this fall. A BosGuy reader from Maine wrote, asking why I snubbed Maine, which also has beautiful fall foliage. The snub was unitentional! Maine was not listed in the USA Today Reader’s Choice poll which inspired my blog post, but I want to make that up to everyone who loves Maine by sharing this post which features Treworgy’s Corn Maze – the longest continually running corn maze in the US.
Checking out a corn maze might be more fun if you’re looking to stretch your legs a bit and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Also noted in a recent survey of best corn mazes was the Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville, VT.
If those drives are a bit longer than you would like (let’s face it they are waaaay up north), New England Foliage has recently published a list of the Best Corn Mazes in New England.
If you have any recommendations based on past visits please share in the comments section.
This photo was pulled from a Tatler post entitled, Hot men in kilts. The photo is one of several in the article but this is definitely my favorite. What you see above is the whole of a rugby team (or perhaps it’s the league since it seems to include so many) all wearing the same outfit. I have to say it does make for a distracting men in kilts post.

ADAM & ANDY is set in the fictional New England town of Woodfield, CT. You can learn more about Adam and Andy and purchase a copy of “the definitive collection of Adam and Andy” by visiting, adamandandy.com.
James Asal (the creator of Adam & Andy) has not been able to publish as many cartoons as he would like lately so I thought I’d share this post from Labor Day last year. For those of you in a relationship have you ever switched places?

Thanks James for continuing to juggle work and this comic strip.
The summer may officially be over but the weather in New England will remain beautiful for several more weeks but even as the days get shorter and the temperatures cool, there is plenty to do in the fall. With many of us not traveling, day trips may prove to be a boon for local tourism.
According to USA Today readers two New England locations were included in their Reader’s Choice list of 10 best destinations for fall foliage. New Hampshire’s White Mountains ranked No. 4 and Stowe, Vermont, ranked No. 6. If getting out of the house for a weekend roadtrip sounds appealing, check out the NH scenic foliage drives or VT scenic foliage drives websites. Although it failed to make the Reader’s Choice top 10 list, I also want to give a shout out for Berkshire Scenic Drives which typically sees peak foliate a week or two after Vermont and New Hampshire.
The best part about these drives is they are easy day trips so make plans to get out and enjoy the fall weather when it arrives next month.
It is easy to date this week’s photo of these two handsome young men since “1949” is written along the bottom of the photo to two men posing, happily.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price.
