This week I’m featuring the Instagram account of Victoria – a Cape Cod native who’s account takes beautiful photos of New England (and beyond).
I thought I would feature this account because based on the small number of followers she has it is unlikely you would have seen her posts which are really quite beautiful and provide a welcome distraction to my IG feed.
Hopefully the caption I’ve shared below inspires you to offer up a caption or two of your own. Leave a witty or funny caption as a comment for this post, and I’ll approve it for readers to enjoy.
This past weekend Sergio had me in stitches laughing so hard watching this promotional video for the WonderSpray, the world’s first portable butt shower. The product isn’t what I find funny – rather it is the ‘cheeky’ way these inventors have opted to market their product. Their tagline is a good example of what I mean, “Revolutionizing the way people poop one clean bum at a time” – OMG.
I’m more than a little intrigued by the WonderSpray’s “Wonder” mode. If anyone happens to have this product, please explain the experience. The video describes the various settings saying, “Perfect for at home or on-the-go. Comes with multiple pressurized water jets with 4 different settings from light to wonder mode. AND trust us, you’ve got to experience the “Wonder” mode!!!”
You have to check out the WonderSpray launch video (below).
If you want to try the product, check out their kickstarter page where they’ve already raised nearly $300,000 from more than 2,700 people.
Perhaps this photo can tempt some of you nay-sayers into remembering to wear your mask. Much thanks to The Closet Professor blog where I found this photo (one of many handsome men) wearing masks in his post, Moment of Zen: Masked Men.
This submission from a fan of my weekly kilts post might be more aptly entitled man sort of in a kilt, but I’m assuming I will not get too many complaints.
Many public spaces in Boston had to close due to the pandemic. However, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) announced last Wednesday that they will reopen (with some changes for pubic safety), starting September 26th.
If you plan on heading over to the MFA note that this fall all visitors will need advance timed-entry tickets. You can visit the mfa.org on September 9 to reserve your spot.
ADAM & ANDY is set in the fictional New England town of Woodfield, CT. You can learn more about Adam and Andy and purchase a copy of “the definitive collection of Adam and Andy” by visiting, adamandandy.com.
James Asal (the creator of Adam & Andy) has not been able to publish as many cartoons as he would like lately so I thought I’d share this post from Labor Day last year. Thanks James for continuing to juggle work and this comic strip.
I’ve recently stumbled upon a blog you might appreciate called Fearsome Beard. While the blog is dedicated to pogonophiles (preople who love beards), there are more than a few photos like this week’s Furry Friday that I pulled from the blog. I’ll continue to keep an eye on this blog and have added it to my blogroll.
Each Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.
I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.
This week’s brain teaser: What has no arms but can knock, and when it does you should most definitely answer?
The impact the pandemic is having on the few remaining gay bars in Boston is concerning to say the least so I was happy to read in the blog, Boston Restaurant Talk that The Alley in Downtown Crossing is reinventing itself and making better use of their kitchen to serve food so it can open for business.
Starting yesterday, Wednesday, the Alley Bar has been serving appetizers, burgers, and pizza. According to the blog post, the owners of the popular bear bar were looking to leverage their kitchen to serve food prior to the pandemic but the closures of all bars mandated by the state expedited that process. By serving food and transforming into a restaurant, The Alley can open rather than wait for Phase 4, which might not happen for awhile because it is dependent on the discovery of a vaccine and/or therapeutic. You can find out more on The Alley’s Facebook page.
The Alley Bar first opened in 2003. Help support this LGBTQ establishment and stop by for a burger and a beer with your friends.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. This week I’m featuring the Instagram account of Dan Carter, owner of Danimal Yoga located in Washington, D.C. The account features Dan training others, showing off his yoga moves both in his studio and in some less conventional settings like the Washington National Cathedral, Boothbay Harbour beach and the Washington National’s stadium.
His account also features a number of cheeky ‘au natural’ posts. He has a tendency to do yoga in the buff. In addition to running his Danimal Yoga studio, Dan also offers naked yoga classes run out of DC but available via streaming. If you’re interested, you can learn more by visiting DC Naked Yoga.
