Kiki Beach: Season 4 begins Sunday, May 26
Look what @KikiBeachBoston posted in their stories earlier today. It appears that Kiki Beach will be starting early this season and with a forecast calling for temperatures in the mid 80s on Sunday, why not head to the beach?
If you haven’t any plans, come down and check out the first Kiki Beach of the season. The boys usually don’t get to the beach much before 12PM. Look for guys on M Street Beach just after the Community Center, first bus shelter to the right.

In the summer by Nizar Qabbani
With the start of Summer season in the US starting today – the start of Memorial Day Weekend – I wanted to share this poem which I post each summer.
In the Summer was written by a Syrian named Nizar Qabbani. Its slightly melancholic message makes it all the more romantic, which is pretty impressive considering the entire poem is less than 40 words.

Boston Chops: Sips with a Somm Wine Class
Earlier this month Boston Chops South End restaurant hosted the first of four wine classes hosted by Nick Daddona, Boston Chops beverage director and his wife Lauren Collins who was the wine director at L’Espalier. Both treated us with their knowledge and anecdotes about the regions and wines we tried.
No prior knowledge of wines is required for this tasting, and this makes for a great gift for anyone you may know who enjoys wine. Although the first tasting has already passed, note the upcoming dates and make your reservations today. Monthly classes are $39 per person and begin at 4:00 PM.
Upcoming Sips with a Somm Wine Classes
Saturday, June 8 – Champagne & Sparkling Wines
Saturday, August 10 – Rosé All Day

If you’d like to learn more or to reserve a seat at the next Sips with a Somm – Wine Class call 617.227.5011.
Pilot program for marijuana cafes in Massachusetts
Provincetown named as one of five potential communities to pilot cafes
Last week Boston.com shared a story on how Massachusetts state regulators are now starting to focus on licensing “consumption establishments” so they can open for business in the state. Referred to as cannabis cafes or marijuana lounges, social consumption establishments are just what they sound like. But of course since this is Massachusetts this will likely take time as regulators discuss and debate how to proceed before a cafe is licensed to open.
A pilot program is being evaluated and will be capped at a maximum of 12 communities, beginning with the five — Amherst, North Adams, Provincetown, Somerville, and Springfield — that participated in the working group, if they choose to opt in. At the moment, regulators are suggesting two types of licenses under the proposed pilot: Primary-use licenses, like cannabis cafes, and event host licenses for public events where marijuana could be consumed, like a concert or festival. At the moment indoor smoking would be prohibited due to the statewide ban on indoor smoking but the proposed pilot program would let event hosts could allow smoking in a designated outdoor area and vaping could be allowed indoors with proper ventilation.

Vintage gay
Above is a photo of two men enjoying what looks like a fairly passionate kiss and embrace. I’m going to guess this was taken in the 1940s, but honestly have no idea. Anyone else think they know when this photo might have been taken?
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.
