The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will come to Boston next month on Saturday, June 3, 2023. This annual tour first came to Boston in 2011 and this will mark the fifth time the competition has brough some of the world’s best cliff divers to the city. The backdrop of Boston’s skyline and harbor makes for some impressive photos and draws huge crowds to the Seaport each year.
Boston lacks cliffs (we barely even have hills) so Red Bull turns the Institute of Contemporary Art into a 90′ diving platform. If you’ve never been, mark this date on your calendar and check it out. The best views are from Pier 4, but the largest crowds will congregate on Fan Pier.

The Massachusetts LGBT Chamber of Commerce (MLGBT CC) is hosting its first-ever conference and tea dance on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Mandarin Oriental, Boston. The conference includes programming for both corporate partners and small business members and will conclude with a tea dance celebration.
Keynote speakers will include Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston and Mayor Nicole LaChapelle of Easthampton as well as State Senator Julian Cyr and State Representative Kate Hogan.

Later this week Boston’s SpeakEasy Stage’s final production for the 2022/2023 season, The Prom, will open. The musical may sound familiar because Netflix recently produced a film based on the popular musical with a star-studded cast that included Meryl Streep, James Cordon, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, Kerry Washington, Tracey Ulman, and many more.

The plot centers on a young lesbian’s desire to bring her girlfriend to her high school prom and four aging Broadway actors who travel to the conservative smalltown “to help” (note my use of quotes) make it happen after the PTA opts to cancel the dance. While the musical will have your laughing at times, the topic is relevant and continues to play out around this country.
Please show Boston’s local theater scene some love by planning a fun night out to see The Prom, which will play at the Calderwood Theater from May 5 – June 3, 2023. Tickets are reasonable and there are discounted tickets available for those under the age of 25 and senior citizens. I recommend planning a fun night out with someone special or a group of friends.
