Furry Friday

Furry FridayI’m re-posting this Furry Friday post which I first shared in 2013 of my former personal trainer, Stu, who I worked out with for about 3.5 years. Stu became a Dad earlier this year and is a great guy.

BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, exercise for your brainEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s brain teaser:  I am the  capital of an island nation, but I sound like a blood donation or a person who can’t relax. What city am I?

Vintage gay

These two look like they are teenagers. I can’t quite figure out where they might be but I’m thinking this may date back to the 1940s based on the pants since they are wearing little else. Anyone care to take a guess or share some insights into the date or location of this couple?

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

This week on Instagram: homosports

sports, This account is definitely pg-13 rated and its name is pretty self explanatory. The account is littered with jocks and athletes representing pretty much every sport you can think. Most of the entries are of videos with a somewhat salacious nature, which I think may only serve to encourage many who read this blog.

In the summer

walking on the beachWith the Summer Solstice having just occurred, I thought it appropriate to repost this poem.  Slightly melancholic and romantic, In the Summer, is a personal favorite that was written by a Syrian poet, Nizar Qabbani.

Happy Father’s Day

I wanted to take a moment to say Happy Father’s Day to my Dad, my brother, Tim, and my two brother-in-laws, Travis and Brett as well as all the other fathers out there. I hope you have a wonderful day with your family.

Be sure to give your Dad a call today and let him know how much you love him.

Scruffy Sunday

Saturday morning coffee

male torso, absI 100% approve of  this shirtless distraction’s choice of enjoying a nice French Press. No disrespect but from a taste and environmental perspecive I never got into having my coffee in pods from machines like Keurig. I love the smell of making my coffee and the satisfaction of taking that first sip.

The History Project’s Queer fiascos

Have you lived through a queer fiasco? Did an ex show up somewhere they shouldn’t have, like next to you on a Pride float? Did you get the wrong address to the best party of the decade? Did you trip and fall off the stage of your favorite gay bar in front of your crush?

There are so many stories to tell so the History Project has teamed up with  SpeakOUT Boston and they are brewing up an online storytelling event and fundraiser to relive and remember LGBTQ+ stories. The theme is “Queer Fiascos” which can be interpreted in multiple ways. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. and get your tickets here!

Do you have a story you’d like to share? Email Joan from The History Project at info@historyproject.org or Ellyn from SpeakOUT Boston at (ellyn@speakoutboston.org) for more details.

All proceeds generated via Eventbrite will support SpeakOUT Boston and The History Project
