Be my valentine
I’ve previously posted this photo from local photographer, Partick Lentz, but I didn’t think anyone would mind an annual re-posting.
Vintage gay
This photo which dates back to the 1950s and came from the Tumblr site of Past Male Beauty seemed like an appropriate photo to share on Valentine’s Day.
*****
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. At the Touch of You
At the Touch of You
Witter Bynner, 1881 – 1968
At the touch of you,
As if you were an archer with your swift hand at the bow,
The arrows of delight shot through my body.
You were spring,
And I the edge of a cliff,
And a shining waterfall rushed over me.
Bynner was born in NYC, spending his formative years in Brookline, MA and at Harvard before embarking on travels, that ultimately led him to Santa Fe, NM. Bynner was friends with D.H. Lawrence who based characters on these two “friends” in his book, The Plumed Serpent.
This week on Instagram: green.joel
This week on Instagram I’m featuring Joel Green, a personal trainer and model, who seems to always be on the move, traveling the world. I know very little about this person except that the camera loves him, and I cannot take my eyes off of him. Check out his IG account and you’ll see photos from around Europe and Asia. If you are like me, it might take you several minutes of staring before you even realize the exotic surroundings.

Boston Gay Men’s Chorus performs with Todrick Hall
Next month The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus (BGMC) spring concert “Raise You Up,” gives voice (literally) to the themes of racial injustice and the resilience of the human spirit. The BGMC will be joined on stage with the super cool and fantastically talented Todrick Hall at New England Conservatory’s beautiful Jordan Hall on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.
The first half of the show will feature “Seven Last Words of the Unarmed” to give voice to the last words of Michael Brown, Amadou Diallo, Kenneth Chamberlain, John Crawford, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant, and Trayvon Martin.
About the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus BGMC is one of New England’s largest and most successful community-based choruses. Founded in 1982, the 200-voice ensemble sings a wide spectrum of classical and popular music and creates social change by providing a positive, affirming image of the gay and lesbian community. The Chorus is heard live by more than 10,000 people each season and thousands more through recording, television and internet broadcasts.
