The Boston Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker opens two weeks from today. Each year I like to give this classic ballet a plug, because the entire experience from walking into the Boston Opera House to watching the ballet and listening to the orchestra puts me in such a wonderful mood.
Boston Ballet presents The Nutcracker Nov. 29 – Dec. 30
Consider picking up tickets for a show and making an evening of going to the ballet with friends or someone special. It makes for an excellent date night.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. This food lovers Instagram account is fuelled by a community of cooks who are proud to show off their creations like this sun-dried tomato pesto past with a vegan cream cheese by the German food blogger @biancazapatka. Photographs include all sorts of treats that are beautifully photographed and which leave me more than a little hungry and wondering why my meals never look this visually appealing to eat.

Heterosexuality is so last season in Raziel Reid’s book, Kens, which was published this past September.
The book has been described as a gay Heathers meets Mean Girls. Kens is a about the three Kens of Willows High who rule the school and Tommy Rawlins who so desperately wants to be accepted by the Kens. This is a funny and provocative story about identity and acceptance.
