Vintage gay

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? This week on Instagram: boyswithplants

I have to give credit to fellow blogger, JP, who made me aware of this Instagram account in his post The secret life of plants, which I recommend you check out if you have a few minutes. One doesn’t need to have a green thumb to appreciate this account as I’m sure you’ve surmised but it may inspire you to buy a few more house plants.

Pardon the pun, but you could say this account has blossomed and even has a website where they sell books, prints, mugs and the like so if you really dig the Instagram account there is some retail therapy available.

You can follow Brenton on Instagram here, instagram.com/boyswithplants.

Kiki Beach: Season 4 begins Sunday, May 26

Look what @KikiBeachBoston posted in their stories earlier today. It appears that Kiki Beach will be starting early this season and with a forecast calling for temperatures in the mid 80s on Sunday, why not head to the beach?

If you haven’t any plans, come down and check out the first Kiki Beach of the season. The boys usually don’t get to the beach much before 12PM. Look for guys on M Street Beach just after the Community Center, first bus shelter to the right. gay boston, kiki beach

In the summer by Nizar Qabbani

walking on the beachWith the start of Summer season in the US starting today – the start of Memorial Day Weekend – I wanted to share this poem which I post each summer.

In the Summer was written by a Syrian named Nizar Qabbani. Its slightly melancholic message makes it all the more romantic, which is pretty impressive considering the entire poem is less than 40 words.

BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, exercise for your brain

Each Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s brain teaser: I have cities, but no houses. I have mountains, but no trees. I have water, but no fish. What am I?

Like riddles? Check out past week’s brain teasers.
