The final free movie sponsored by EF Education this summer is tonight by the EF HQ in North Point Park. In case you didn’t know, North Point Park is just a few minutes walk from the Green Line Lechmere MBTA Station. Tonight’s free movie is European Vacation.

Thanks to the Highland Street Foundation, Free fun Friday’s has been making different museums and cultural venues in and around Boston free to the public this summer. Each Friday, Free Fun Fridays identifies six different museums and cultural venues the public may enjoy for no cost.

If you are not one of the tens of thousands moving out of your apartment on August 31st, you may want to head down to Boston’s waterfront. Earlier this week Mayor Menino announced the return of summertime public fireworks on the waterfront.
Saturday, August 31st at 9:00 pm
The fireworks will be a highlight of the city-sponsored Boston Arts Festival which runs from Saturday, August 31 to Sunday, September 1 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Christopher Columbus Park.
Thanks to the Highland Street Foundation, Free fun Friday’s program returned to Boston. The program which started in late June makes six museums and cultural venues free each Friday.
The month of August EF Education is hosting River And A Movie by their headquarters along the Charles River in North Point Park in Cambridge.

The series which started last Wednesday will continue through the month, hosting a different travel-related film for free in the North Point Park (near the Green Line Lechmere MBTA Station). Lingo Bar & Restaurant will have specials so you may grab some dinner and drinks from 6-8 pm.
This past winter I first wrote that the Red Bull Cliff Diving contest would return to Boston this summer for the third year in a row in this post.
One month from today on August 25th that competition will return to Boston. I’ll be out of town and miss the fun, but I wanted to encourage anyone in the Boston area to mark this on their calendar to come down and enjoy this free, fun event along Boston’s waterfront. I’ve included below a quick video from the first diving contest in Boston from 2011.

Boston’s Music Festival – Outside the Box – has been hosting dozens of shows each day since the festival started last week. Later tonight the Adam Ezra Group will take the main stage in City Hall Plaza at 7:30 pm. If you get there earlier, you can also see award-winning recording artist and native Bostonian Adam Jensen who comes on stage at 6pm.
Here’s a song I’m fairly certain the Adam Ezra Group will perform tonight for everyone. Note it’s not exactly work safe.
Gym memberships can be costly, but during the summer months Boston has so many free classes throughout the city you needn’t spend any money to get into shape. Yoga, Zumba, Crossfit, Boot Camp, Pilates and Running Clubs all offer affordable ways to get / stay in shape and meet people.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones perform Sat, July 20th on The Boston Common
Mark your calendars and make plans to check out Boston’s first annual performing arts festival, Outside the Box. This free festival starting later this weekend on Saturday, July 13th will run for one week through Sunday, July 21st and turn the Boston Common and City Hall Plaza into performance spaces, with over 200 events showcasing the best of Boston and Massachusetts.
OUTSIDE THE BOX FESTIVAL – JULY 13TH – 21st

In addition to attracting some amazingly gifted artists, from July 18th – 21st a festival within a festival featuring some of the city’s best local restaurants and celebrity chefs will take place in Boston’s City Hall Plaza. The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) free production of William Shakespeare’s play, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, started this past weekend and runs through July 28th.
AboutThe Two Gentlemen of Verona: Believed to have been written in 1590 or 1591, this comedy is considered by some to be William Shakespeare’s first play. The play deals with the themes of friendship and infidelity, the conflict between friendship and love, and the foolish behavior of people in love. More about the play may be read here.

Blink! A Light and Sound Extravaganza returns to Faneuil Hall Marketplace for a special summer edition. You may recall that this light show that covers nearly every part of the marketplace, was first presented this past December. It has been recreated with a summer edition featuring the song Dirty Water by The Standells and will have nightly shows through Labor Day.
The Boston Harbor Hotel’s 15th Summer in the City Entertainment Series is in full swing. The 2013 season offers music and movies starting at sunset 5 nights a week, but each night has a different theme:
