Boston Pride officially started with the Pride flag raising at Government Center at 12 p.m. For the next nine days events will be hosted through out the city to celebrate Boston’s LGBT community. I’ll be writing about events that catch my attention and you may find interesting. To kick things off (so to speak) here is a recap of the final weekend of Boston Pride 2012. If you are visiting Boston for Pride or are a first timer, feel free to contact me with any questions you have.
James Cerne who helped found FOXY night, returns to Boston and will join FOXY disc jockeys, Nathanael Bluhm and Joseph Colbourne at the Ramrod in the Fenway this Saturday, June 1st.
For those not familiar, FOXY night pays tribute to 70s, 80s disco, funk, soul & R&B. It is a friendly crowd that always seems up for fun. Come down and say hello to James who is only here visiting for a short while before heading back to Los Angeles where he now lives.
Boston Pride officially kicks off tomorrow at 12PM when the Pride flag is raised at City Hall. The full list of “official” Boston Pride events can be found at the Boston Pride website here.
There are also many unofficial events, parties and celebrations hosted during the week here in Boston and in surrounding areas. If you have questions about New England’s largest Pride celebration, feel free to shoot me an email or ask a question in the comments section of my blog and I’ll do my best to give you my insights and suggestions. If you happen to be traveling to Boston for our Pride celebrations, let me be among the first to welcome you.
Outgoing five term mayor of Boston, Thomas Menino was named the 2013 Grand Marshal for Boston’s Pride Parade scheduled for early next month.
