Chris Evans LGBT ally

Actor Chris Evans whose brother, Scott Evans, is gay and who he accidentally outed in an interview recently said the following about same sex marriage.

“Are you kidding me? It’s insane that civil rights are being denied people in this day and age.  It’s embarrassing, and it’s heartbreaking.  It goes without saying that I”m completely in support of gay marriage. In 10 years we’ll be ashamed that this was an issue.”

While I don’t speak for the LGBT community, I think I speak for many when I say, “Thank You”. I agree that those who oppose same sex marriage are on the wrong side of history and should be ashamed (cough, cough) Mitt Romney… or should I have typed nearly every elected official of the Republican Party.

Is it any wonder at times I feel like a leper in my own country?

Furry Friday

Boston GuyI have no idea who this handsome guy is but I love everything about him and thought he was definitely worthy of a “Furry Friday” post.

I’m a bit frustrated by the lack of potential Furry Friday men of color. Try as I might, I could not find a single photo of a black or African American man. Why is that? If you have any potential candidates forward them to me at BosGuymail — AT — gmail — dot — com.

Suddenly it makes sense

A couple of weeks ago I included a post by the same name referring to soccer and then last week I included one referencing football.  Thanks to David over at WGB, I’ve now seen the light and suddenly have a profound appreciation for wrestling.

Men of Twitter

BosGuyEach Monday I post #MenOfTwitter profiles of men who catch my eye and whom I think you may enjoy following. As always, suggestions for profiles to feature are welcome. If you’d like to follow me on twitter, you can find me @BosGuy. Below are this week’s #MenOfTwitter.

If so inclined, leave these guys a nice comment and start following.

Men of TwitterBenjaminGodfre – What can I say about Benjamin that he hasn’t already said about himself?  If you like what you see here, check his  provocative blog www.benjamingodfre.com. Although he includes video on his blog you can also follow him on YouTube or facebook.  I enjoy following him on Twitter since his Tweets provide a constant update in real-time with links.  Benjamin’s fans are called Benjaminions and he interacts with them via his blog, facebook and Twitter.  More photos of Benjamin will be posted on his blog shortly since he spent this past weekend with celebrity and fashion photographer David Vance in Miami.

Men of Twitterbuckhollywood – Entertainment “news” programs that act as if their reporting is actually important and newsworthy drives me bonkers. I prefer my pop culture news to be served with a side of sarcasm and humor and for that reason I’m a fan of Michael Buckley and his hilarious What The Buck show on YouTube. Michael’s enthusiastic show is gayer than a pink toy poodle and for that reason incredibly entertaining.  With over 50,000 Tweets, Michael’s addiction to Twitter is well documented so if you follow him – say hello. He’s quite friendly.

Scott Herman

Love this Scott Herman video shooting for COMPETE Magazine.  Not only is Scott Herman easy on the eyes, he’s a huge ally for the LGBT community and a native New Englander as you’ll see from the shout out Herman gives the Granite State at the start of the video.

Furry Friday

This weekly post is quickly becoming a favorite. I have to admit I share your same base appreciation and am curious if you have any submissions you think would make for good future Furry Friday posts. Hope you enjoy this week’s post.

Past Furry Friday Posts

Mary Poppers

Ryan Landry and his Gold Dust Orphans announced their latest twisted musical, Mary Poppers.  This latest production begins one week from tonight with performances on Thursday – Saturday at 8PM and Sundays at 5PM from April 26th – May 20th at Machine, which is located at 1254 Boylston Street.

The brief release issued earlier this month suggests attendees should expect “big splashy musical numbers, flying nannies, puppets galore and more surprises than you can shake a parrot head umbrella at!” Hmm… sounds promising. It makes me wonder how Ryan Landry has reworked such classics like “Spoonful of Sugar”, “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and of course, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”.

For those unfamiliar with Landry and his cast of misfits (The Gold Dust Orphans) this is most definitely not kid-friendly.  Tickets are a bargain at $35.00 so reserve your tickets online today, hereIf you cannot see the show in Boston, never fear Landry will be bringing Mary Poppers to the Crown & Anchor in Provincetown starting Tuesday, June 26th.

I wish I had a yard…

Handsome Guy

Suddenly it makes sense

Last week I included a post by the same name but was referring to soccer.  This week I stumbled upon a photograph of college football players and I’m sure you can agree the appeal of this strange game all of a sudden makes perfect sense.

sles78 – Simon is the second man in as many weeks from the U.K. who I’ve featured in my Men of Twitter postings. Could this be the start of a trend? Anyway, I digress. This handsome 30-something splits his down time between Manchester and Telford, but he travels all over England for work.  Simon is very easy to chat with on Twitter and seems quite friendly so be sure to say hello to him in one of your next Tweets.

Parakoos – Otherwise known as Gustav Andersson is originally from Sweeden but now he calls the world his home as lives the life of a modern nomad.  He maintains an intriguing blog that documents his travels (in case you’re wondering he’s currently in Buenos Aires).  Perhaps Gustav will be visiting your home some time soon.  Follow him on Twitter and read about his travels on his blog, The Modern Nomad.

FOXY reborn tonight

Over marathon weekend last April I first wrote about two local DJs who were hosting fun dance nights in Cambridge on Sundays.  The two  DJs, James Cerne and Nathaniel Bluhm played a collection of mostly funky music and mixes from the 80s and 90s with an occasional nod to more contemporary hits.

No Cover or Attitude at Middlesex Lounge 10pm – 2am

At the start of this year James left Boston but Nathaniel has persevered and transformed FOXY which is now at the Middlesex Lounge at 315 Massachusetts Avenue.  Are you one of the many who will have tomorrow, Patriot’s Day, off? Check out tonight’s party, which runs from 10pm – 2am in Central Square.

Child Celebs Opposing Kirk Cameron (CCOKC)

Not safe for work but hilarious and poignant.Enjoy and share.

Just found out that the video has been removed but you can watch it on the Funny or Die website here.
