Haunted Houses in New England

Halloween, Haunted Houses

Source: Halloween New England

Tis the season to scare the crap out of oneself. While I’m no expert on haunted houses, I’ve done some digging and identified a handful of places you may want to visit. Be sure to also check out www.halloweennewengland.com, which has an extensive listing of haunted houses throughout all of New England.

Barrett’s Haunted Mansion is south of Boston in Abbington, MA. Oct 18 and Nov 4 & 5th  they will host their special Darkness Unleashed, which requires advance ticket purchase.  On Sundays and Thursdays they have a deal for $35 that includes dinner at the Ale House and admission to the Haunted Mansion/Maze. More details can be found on their website, BHMansion.com.

Factory of Terror has three locations in Worcester, West Warwick, RI and Fall River. More details about individual locations, tickets and hours can be found on their website, factoryofterror.com.

Spooky World may be the largest of the haunted houses in the area. This year Spooky World presents “Nightmare in New England”. Based on feedback I read online, it seems like you will want to purchase either their VIP or Super VIP tickets, but these come at a hefty price, starting at $65 on Friday and Saturday nights. For more information visit their website, Spookyworld.com.

For a more complete listing of haunted houses, hayrides, mazes and tours throughout all of New England check out the very thorough website, halloweennewengland.com.

Halloween in Boston’s South End

BostonEven though I am not in Boston this weekend, I have been appreciating the spirit in which my neighborhood prepares for Halloween.  While pumpkins are on virtually every step a lot of neighbors take to decorating their buildings and even the street with a lot of spirit and creativity.

Here are a few pictures from Waltham Street and Union Park in the South End.BostonBoston
