A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of Alexander “Lex” Abramov and apparently a number of you missed seeing him on this blog as much as I did so I’m following up with another photograph. He recently started posting on Instagram again, here.

While Seattle has a well-deserved reputation as a city obsessed with coffee, a recent survey has found that Boston has more coffee shops per capita than any other city in the United States. The city has 61 coffee shops per every 100,000 residents; roughly 3x more than the average city in the United States.
The top 5 coffee cities (number of shops per 100,000 residents) are:
1 Boston
2 Washington DC
3 Seattle
4 San Francisco
5 New Orleans
There are more statistics for all you coffee lovers or if you want to see where your city ranks in terms of most and least expensive cities to grab a cup of joe, overall best coffee cities, and more that you can read here.
As you can see, I’m mixing things up a bit with this week’s Vintage Gay post. I follow an art blog (you can see it in my blogroll) called ultrawolvesunderthefullmoon and the artwork of this Japanese artist caught my attention. In the images above and below I see gay men from the 1980s. Their clothing, preppy haircuts, and cleancut look scream 1980s to me.
Ben Kimura (木村べん) b. 1947 – d. 2003 was a Japanese gay erotic artist who along with George Takeuchi and Sadao Hasegawa, is noted as a central figure in the second wave of contemporary gay artists that emerged in Japan in the 1970s.
You can learn more about this artist and see some more of his work here.

Boston’s Wicked Queer Documentary Film Festival will take place next week, November 10-20 at cinemas throughout the city. Wicked Queer Docs as it is called, is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The ten-day festival seeks to share our common stories and histories which have traditionally been underrepresented or intentionally overlooked.
Festival documentaries will show at the Brattle Theatre and the Museum of Fine Arts. With a virtual encore of the films from November 21st-30th if you are unable to attend in person. Tickets went on sale yesterday.
You can learn more about the full schedule and purchase tickets by visiting, wickedqueer.org.
Please share a caption of your own for this week’s photograph. Hopefully, the caption I’ve shared below will inspire you to leave a funny caption in the comment section. If you don’t see it immediately don’t worry, I’ll approve it for readers to enjoy.
Hey, do you think this chair makes my ass look big?
It’ll be more chilly than we are accustomed to here in Boston for the neighborhood trick-or-treating, but I have no doubt that everyone will have a lot of fun. Here are several photos from Halloween festivities in my neighborhood several years ago.
Knowing my readership, many are likely to prefer tricks over treats so I’ll simply wish you all a safe and fun Halloween, and I hope it is filled with plenty of both.
It is the day before Halloween, so consider this week’s Mancandy post an early treat. For those of you who may be wondering, this is Bruno Duarte Vincent. Bruno appeared on Season 5 of the reality TV show Below Deck. He has a rather explicit Twitter account here.
