This week on Instagram: danimalyoga

Dan Carter, Yoga InstructorThis week I’m featuring the Instagram account of Dan Carter, owner of Danimal Yoga located in Washington, D.C. The account features Dan training others, showing off his yoga moves both in his studio and in some less conventional settings like the Washington National Cathedral, Boothbay Harbour beach and the Washington National’s stadium.

His account also features a number of cheeky ‘au natural’ posts. He has a tendency to do yoga in the buff. In addition to running  his Danimal Yoga studio, Dan also offers naked yoga classes run out of DC but available via streaming. If you’re interested, you can learn more by visiting DC Naked Yoga.

“Splish splash 3 Jonas Brothers taking a bath”

Sorry

Growing up in a family of six, I was haurdpressed to have any privacy so while this never happened to me, it does bring back a number of embarassing moments. BTW, if your immediate reaction is to laugh when watching this then we probably have a similar sense of humor.

I wish I could’ve figured out how to change the thumbnail for this four second video, but it is still worth sharing even if the thumbnail video gives it away.

Men in kilts

kilted photographyFor those of you who enjoy my weekly Men in Kilts post, I wanted to direct your attention to the 2021 Men In Kilts calendar which you can pre-order now, here.

The site describes the calendar as containing “some of the fittest of blokes with not much on except typical Scottish attire.”

You can also check out photographs of models wearing kilts on the site, here.

May this morning’s post of  Trevor Bell help distract you from the fact that it is a Monday morning.

Brené Brown on Empathy

It seems that we have become less of a caring society and I think a large part of that might be from a lack of empathy. I have a sister who is a seventh grade school teacher and she shared this video from Brené Brown on the difference between empathy and sympathy and more importantly why it is important to be able to be more empathetic. If you have a minute or two, check it out.

About Brené Brown
Casandra Brené Brown (born November 18, 1965) is an American professor, lecturer, author, and podcast host. Brown holds the Huffington Foundation’s Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work and is a visiting professor in management at McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Having spent her career studying the concepts of courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and having authored seven books including five New York Times best-sellers, Brown hosts the Unlocking Us podcast, and her TED talk, “The Power of Vulnerability”, has been widely viewed. BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, exercise for your brainEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s brain teaser:  What begins with T, ends with T and has T in it?

Vintage gay

men reading in bedI’m assuming this photo was taken in the 1940s but it is a total guess. I have to admit I really love this photo of two guys (presumably boyfriends) interlocking their legs while they relax in bed reading the paper.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

Naro PinosaBased in Spain, digital artist Naro Pinosa creates imaginative collages by merging sculptures or classical paintings and layering them with modern imagery in an absurd manner.

His images, which tend to be sexual in nature, are always engaging but not for the reasons one might expect. I’ve never quite seen another account like this and his posts range from the mildly erotic to humorous; the latter of which is on full display above. I waould definitely recommend art enthusiasts and artists to check out Pinosa’s account and follow.
