Vintage gay

gay men from 20th centuryMuch thanks from Miller in NY for emailing me these photos, that date back 110 years (circa 1910). Don’t they look cozy in the first photo? My favorite is the middle one, because it reminds me of countless times Sergio is taking a photos of me. Having said that, it does look like they had a great time out on that rowboat.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

Jan Nordik, handsome, hunkMuch thanks to Damien who you can find on IG at @ozdamieninks for emailing me this photo earlier this year and suggesting that I post something about Jan.

For those who like muscular Northern Europeans this German who calls Cologne Germany home will be too tempting to pass by. This self-proclaimed 90’s kid with quite good looks and a body to match has an Instagram account filled with selfies, photos at the gym and presumably everyday life (usually without a shirt).

Below is a photo of (I presume) his boyfriend which is one of my favorite pictures on his account, but if you’d like to see more of his physique, click on the link below and you’ll be able to see what the pool is hiding in the above photo.

Temptation Tuesday

Biscuitt, handsome black manThis week I’m featuring my Twitter bud, Biscuitt, who is from upstate NY. I had the chance to meet this handsome guy years ago in Provincetown. Since then our paths seem to cross about once a year. He’s a sweetheart with a naughty streak a mile wide, which anyone who follows his Twitter feed will know. Don’t follow this guy? Check him out at @biscuittmfs .

Voting Blue no matter who

Tomorrow is Super Tuesday. Fourteen states and American Samoa will all participate and more than 1300 delegates are up for grabs. As a result, I’m sure that by the end of this week the field of Presidential hopefuls will have narrowed.

Elections and especially our primary process can be frustrating because most people’s first choice for candidate do not receive the Party’s nomination. Only twice in my life have I supported a candidate who went on to get the Democratic Party’s nomination; Barrack Obama in ’08 and again in ’12.

The sad truth about our two party system is that most of the time one votes for the lesser of two evils rather than someone they wholeheartedly support. The two front runners for the Democratic Primary, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, are what I deem to be the lesser evil. While I have no idea what to expect from Super Tuesday and in the months that follow, I do know that I’ll be #VotingBlueNoMatterWho.

Men in kilts

scottsmanIf you ask me, a shirtless man in a kilt is an incredibly distracting look – which I mean in the most positive way. This guy serves as a good example of what I’m talking about. The photo comes from the welovekilts Instagram account.

This week’s brain teaser:
One word in three different ways fits in all the blanks. Can you figure it out?

“The ________ doctor was ________ to perform the operation because there was _______.”
