Community Marketing Insights 23rd Annual LGBT Travel survey is live and they are looking for members of the LGBT community to share with them your travel preferences. The survey will remain open through Sunday, November 10th.
Your responses are anonymous and aggregated to better understand LGBT traveler trends and preferences. The organizers say that the survey will take approximately 10-12 minutes but it took me even less time.

Do you recognize this photograph? Aaron Fricke (left) made history when he filed suit in U.S. District court after his high school in Pawtucket, RI told him he could not bring his date, Paul Guilbert (right) to his prom in 1980 in the court case, Fricke v. Lynch. For those who are interested in learning more about this ballsy teenager who challenged the status quo you can read his autobiography Reflections of a Rock Lobster in which he details growing up gay culminating at that high school dance. Read more about it here.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Although the holiday season has not officially started, I wanted to make sure you make time to attend this year’s Toys for Joys; scheduled to take place Saturday, December 14th at the Artist for Humanity building in South Boston.

For those unfamiliar with this holiday tradition, Toys for Joys has become a significant force for good, collecting toy donations for children in our community most in need. The team behind this annual toy drive host the best fundraiser of the season – devoid of rubber chicken dinners and long speeches. The evening is filled with great music, delicious cocktails from Tito’s Vodka and a casual and welcoming atmosphere to meet and mingle with friends and new acquaintances.

If you are a pop culture fan and loved NBC’s Must See TV programming, you may want to check out this roving Friends recreation, that just ran in New York City and will make its way to Boston later this month. The “pop-up” will set up shop 401 Park from November 21 through January 5. Tickets are required (of course) and are now on sale here.
The official site, friends25popup.com, has a FAQ page for any questions you might have about the pop-up as well as merchandise for sale. The website encourages fans of the popular NBC sitcom to enjoy set re-creations from popular episodes, take advantage of fun photo ops and of course, Central Perk.
As much as I enjoyed the show when it was on, I can’t see myself going to this but if you do get tickets to check it out, let me know what you think of it (and have a double espresso for me while you’re there).
