Independence Week in Provincetown party passes on sale now

Independence Week Provincetown 2015 at Crown and AnchorOne of Ptown’s busiest week is July 2 – 10, 2015 and to celebrate, The Crown & Anchor has a line up worthy of the hype hosting an international DJ lineup that includes the award-winning Alain Jackinsky (JustCircuit’s DJ of the Year 2014), Ivan Gomez, Abel and many more.

The Freedom Beach Party, nominated for “Best New Circuit Event” in the 2015 JustCircuit Awards, will feature Circuit favorite DJ Roland Belmares, who returns to the Crown & Anchor on Wednesday July 8th.

BCAE’s Sip the Rainbow party is Friday, May 15th

BCAE, Ptown, P-townLast month I first wrote about the Boston Center for Adult Education party that takes place tomorrow evening.  This year’s theme for Sip the Rainbow is Provincetown, and the party will include treats and cocktails from some of Provincetown’s favorite chefs and mixologists.

The evening will also showcase the sites of Provincetown as part of an ongoing photography exhibit at BCAE, entitled P-town to Boston: A Photo Exhibit ; the exhibit will run at the BCAE through September 30, 2015.

Bernadette Peters comes to Ptown July 19th

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick come to Ptown

Earlier this week it was shared that on Monday (during Carnival Week), August 17th Ferris Bueller Matthew Broderick and Cary Bradshaw Sarah Jessica Parker will perform two shows at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM with Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host as part of his inaugural Broadway @ Town Hall series.

According to the release, Broderick and Parker have not appeared together on stage for nearly two decades since the Broadway revival of  “How To Succeed…”  For more information and to purchase tickets visit www.ptownarthouse.com or call 800-838-3006.

Kathy Najimy Grand Marshal for Ptown Carnival

Provincetown, Ptown, CarnivalLast week it was announced that Kathy Najimy would be the Grand Marshal for Provincetown’s annual Carnival parade scheduled for Thursday, August 20th.

Kathy will also perform one show on Wednesday, August 19th at Ptown’s Town Hall.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka will perform during Daddy Days in Provincetown

Ptown Art HouseAlthough I believe this is purely coincidence, Tony and Emmy Award winning star Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka will perform two shows for one night only in Provincetown on August 10th on the first night of the 3rd annual Ptown “Daddy Days”.

Both shows will feature Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host for both shows on August 10th at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. More information for tickets here.

Well-Strung new show “Summer Lovin” in Ptown

Ptown, Chris Marchant,  Edmund Bagnell, Daniel Shevlin, Trevor Wadleigh , Art HouseWell-Strung, everyones favorite singing string quartet returns to Provincetown this summer with an all new show entitled, Summer Lovin’ directed by Richard Jay-Alexander.  Members of Well-Strung include Edmund Bagnell (first violin), Christopher Marchant (second violin), Daniel Shevlin (cello) and Trevor Wadleigh (viola). Music arrangements are by Well-Strung and Bruce Carter.

About two years ago Sherry Vine and Varla Jean Merman sat down to chat for a few minutes on Here TV.  I love these two ladies.  Varla Jean performs each summer in Ptown and is back this summer with her new show, Big Black Hole!  Be sure to check out her show at the Ptown Art House.

Rosie O’Donnell comes to Provincetown

PtownMemorial Day Weekend – a.k.a. Baby Dyke Weekend in Provincetown – Mark Cortale proudly presents the launch of the Broadway at Town Hall series, starring Emmy Winner and cultural icon Rosie O’Donnell.

Accompanying Rosie will be Sirius XM Radio Star Seth Rudetsky who will join Rosie as pianist and host for the evening.

The Art House Ptown 2015 summer line up

Ptown, TheaterDo you have plans to visit Provincetown this summer?  No trip would be complete without taking in at least one show.  This tiny town at the tip of the Cape has fantastic live performances ranging from Broadway stars to rising stars. The Provincetown Art House is one of the main theatrical venues worth checking out.

Bookmark their site and check back over the next few weeks as more performers and performances are added.  Because the venue is small, shows sell out fast so I suggest you reserve tickets for a show or two before you arrive in Ptown.
