Carnival Week boat cruise sponsored by Bay State Cruises, Cape Cod 5 and Ptown’s Chamber of Commerce is next Sunday, August 16th. Christopher Columbus park has been showing movies for free on a large screen each Sunday starting at sunset since mid July. This is the second to last week for you to catch one of the free movies. This week they will be showing, Moneyball.

While I disagree with Pope Francis on many things, I find myself in agreement with him on many other issues as well; like war and who it really serves.
Both political parties in the US have been far too eager to rely on military might and while there are many reasons for our military involvement abroad, I firmly believe that Pope Francis has explained it perfectly. In our current political landscape, money talks and nobody outspends the US Military Complex. Check out this chart detailing the military industrial complex spending from 2007 – 2017. Maybe it is time to rethink our military spending? It looks like we have plenty of money to invest in things like infrastructure, education and even paying down our deficit.

When you are against gun control legislation, opposed to ending the death penalty and don’t believe in providing universal healthcare I need to ask, “What about life do you value?” The pro-life movement in the Republican Party is a marketing gimmick wrapped up in religious fervor and it rings hollow to me.
I can appreciate why individuals for either reasons of faith or personal values would be opposed to abortions, but the value of life isn’t summed up by a single issue. If life is sacred then it is always so – not just as it pertains to abortion rights.

In the Summer was written by a Syrian named Nizar Qabbani. He was a poet and a diplomat who lived from 1923 – 1998. I love this poem. It has a slightly melancholic message that makes it all the more romantic, which is pretty impressive considering the entire poem is less than 40 words.

Tomorrow night if you happen to be in Ptown I’d encourage you to consider participating in the Friday Gallery Walk, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Provincetown is home to some truly exceptional artists and is a wonderful way to enjoy a beautiful evening out.
Anyone contemplating visiting galleries should check out The Alden Gallery at 423 Commercial Street. Joerg Dressler, a former South End resident and friend, will have work on display as part of a two-person show, “Joerg Dressler and Heather Toland”. Their works will be on display and available for sale through Thursday, August 20th (Carnival Week).

WordPress lets me know what search engine terms are used to find my blog. I don’t regularly check this data but yesterday I happened to take a glance and saw a couple of searches for”sweaty men boxing” that resulted in visits to my blog.
I cannot figure out how anyone would’ve stumbled upon BosGuy.com using those search terms. Nevertheless, I typed the terms to see if a link appeared. I couldn’t find a link on any of the first few pages of Google, but I thought I would say hello to the two of you who were looking for sweaty men boxing and tell you that I admire your perseverance.
