Enjoy this year’s Christmas-themed Men in kilts post. Although there is no stamp on this, I bet these photos came from the Kilted Brothers ad campaign.
Merry Christmas
Since today is Christmas Eve, and tomorrow is Christmas Day and many places are closed of the holiday, I”m going to refrain from posting my usual “What’s Happening This Week” and leave you with this photo taken by my friend Izzy Berdan from a few years back to help put you in the holiday spirit.
Merry Christmas from me to you and I’ll share an update on what’s happening this weekend on Thursday afternoon.
Still not feeling the holiday vibe? Perhaps this coy photo of Simon Dunn, showing us all how to make the most of mistletoe will help.

It’s no secret that hotels are expensive in Boston but one week after the South End’s newest hotel The Revolution opened, another hotel targeting the budget conscious-traveler with an eye on European tourists and Millennials has opened; this time in Bay Village / Theater District.
Found Boston Common has just opened in the building formerly known as the Milner Hotel at 78 Charles Street South. The new hotel chain with hotels in Chicago, DC and San Diego targets budget conscious travelers and has plans to open in six more cities by 2020. The building which dates back to the late 19th century when it first opened as the Sumner Hotel, is marketing itself as a “micro hotel” with 66 private and 2 shared hotel rooms. The building has been completely remodeled with two lounge areas where travelers can gather, offering an affordable, social, stylish place for travelers in a prime location of the city.
The decor could be described as minimalistic with an ivory and dark blue color scheme, dark herringbone floors, and walnut accents. However, the most amazing thing about this new hotel is that nightly rates start at $39.
You can learn more about Boston’s newest hotel by visiting their website or liking their Facebook page.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Hey snow bunnies. Looking for an extravagant holiday gift for your boyfriend but no clue what to do? This week Jet Blue announced that they would start flying nonstop from Boston to Steamboat Springs with weekly nonstop service on Wednesday and Saturday.
I took a look on Jet Blue’s website and was able to find round trip, nonstop fares starting starting at $469 in January, $324 in February and $410 in March. As a one-time skier but someone who hasn’t skied in a looooong time, I’m happy to see more opportunities to fly out West for ski trips from Boston. I’ve never skied in Colorado and have no idea what Steamboat Springs is like but Jet Blue’s flights make it the only airline from New England that flies nonstop here. If anyone books a trip, let me know.
Vinicius happens to be one of my favorite mixologists / bar tenders. Unfortunately, I don’t get to see him often because he practices his craft in Brazil, but you can bet I enjoy the images of his creative cocktails which he often posts on his Instagram account. Although Vinicius is straight, he is also a first class flirt and sitting at any bar he works at is an absolute blast.
