This weekend I was contacted and told that the gay nightclub, Paradise, located at 180 Massachusetts Ave in Cambridge will close later this month to accommodate Novartis Pharmaceuticals expansion plans, which recently bought the space for $1.75 million

I have not been able to confirm the closing date, but for several years there has been talk that Paradise (one of only a handful of gay nightclubs remaining in Boston) would eventually close due to Novartis inevitable expansion.

Despite a rainy forecast, there remains plenty to do this final weekend of summer here in Boston, Ptown and Ogunquit. 

If you’re looking to get out and go dancing check out the monthly Bears and Cubs dance party Fur-Turnity on Friday at Jacques then on Saturday head over to the Alley for Underbear before going to the biggest dance party of the weekend on Sunday at Royale for the White Party. 

For those looking for alternatives to the bar scene be sure to check out the free outdoor showing (weather permitting) of Out of Africa at Rowes Wharf on Friday, followed by Kiki Beach (again – weather permitting) on Saturday, followed by SoWa Open Market on Sunday — Just to name a few options.
