Are you in Boston this week and looking for something out of the ordinary? Check out Jacques special show tonight at 10:30.
Hmm… perhaps some of those sailors in town for Boston Navy Week should check out this show too.

I know that I’ve previously mentioned my admiration and my complete lack of understanding pertaining to lacrosse, which appears to entail running like a mad man and whacking people with their sticks. There is something very impressive about this photo of lacrosse player, Scott Rogers. The even if the game seems utter nonsense, the nature of the appeal is returning and suddenly it all makes sense again.
I’m sure by now you’ve seen the rainbow Oreo cookie picture and perhaps you’ve even heard about the ridiculous backlash from the Evangelicals and Christian Conservatives in the US.
Yesterday’s Philip DeFranco Show on YouTube pretty much summed up my feelings about this too.
It’s a f*cking cookie guys!?! Chill
You can watch the entire broadcast or just listen to the bit about “Oreo-gate” since he leads with the story.
Davy a.k.a. CuteLiberal on Twitter posted this quote from Dorothy Parker earlier in the week and it gave me a good chuckle. I thought you might enjoy it as well. If you are on Twitter, check out and follow @CuteLiberal.
From time to time I like to insert a photograph of David Gandy, a 30-something English model with a stunningly handsome face and body to match. I refer to these random posts as “Gandy candy” for obvious reasons. Not sure who the lucky photographer was but I found this on the aptly named tumblr site, Candy Gandy.
Why do they call this hand-to-hand combat training? I think here in Boston we refer to this as “straddling”. Its funny how different parts of the country use different words to describe the same thing.
I snagged this photograph from the Bill in Exile blog. If the armed forces are struggling with meeting their recruitment numbers, I highly recommend releasing more of these images.
Some of the largest Pride celebrations in the United States will be held this weekend with large parades and even larger crowds.
Chicago, Cleveland, Houston, New Orleans, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, and the Twin cities will all be celebrating Pride. I wanted to wish all of you who will be celebrating this weekend a wonderful time with your friends and family.
For those who think electing politicians or paying respect to religious leaders who continue to marginalize gay men and women is not a big deal, those messages are reaching your children.
Supporting these individuals (even if their views on homosexuality are not your own) still sends a message of tacit agreement to your child. Is it any wonder so many more LGBT children commit suicide?
What messages are we sending our youth?
Thanks for sharing Ivan over at Queer IV
I believe I posted this video when it first came out in January, but while in NYC last week I was reminded of the video so I thought I’d post it. If you’re not familiar, it is worth watching. Phil Mutz is hilarious, and just to clarify, the video opens with him repeatedly saying “Not to act all gay…” then proceeds to act all “gay” for the next 2 minutes.
Using data from the 2010 U.S. Census, Trulia identified neighborhoods with the highest percentage of same-sex households. While nobody disputes that San Francisco and New York City are meccas for the Gay and Lesbian community – especially for the single LGBT community, you may be surprised to see where LGBT couples have a large presence in terms of percentage of the overall population.
For example, 4 of the top 10 zip codes for highest concentration of same-sex female couples are in Massachusetts. And West Hollywood, while certainly a gay enclave is only the 6th most densely populated.
