While it won’t be quite warm enough to do this in Boston until possibly later this weekend, I wanted to wish everyone in the US who may be observing this holiday a fun and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend.
Easter is one of those holidays that has little meaning anymore. I consider myself a “cultural Catholic”, meaning while religion has no place in my life now it did at one point and the memories from that time still influence who I am today.
When I was younger the holiday took on significant meaning, but now I think of it as the start of spring and an opportunity to spend time with family.
Regardless of what Easter means to you. I hope you have a nice Sunday.

After I wrote the post about EaterBoston’s list of restaurants open and serving dinner on Christmas Eve they went ahead and created another post, offering tips on where you can go for dinner on Christmas Day. Today marks the start of the Jewish holiday, Hanukkah, an 8-day observance that remembers the Jewish people’s struggle for religious freedom. Eliad Cohen and I wanted to acknowledge the holiday for those who celebrates it. We hope you can spend the time with friends and family and wish you much peace and happiness.
It is Thanksgiving in the US today, and I am spending the day with my family up at Lake Winnipesaukee (quite the mouthful – eh?). If you observe the holiday, I hope you can have yourself a relaxing, fun-filled day with friends and or family.

Barrett’s Haunted Mansion is south of Boston in Abbington, MA. Tuesday, Oct 21 they will host their special Darkness Unleashed, which requires advance ticket purchase. Here is a $3 coupon good for visits Sunday thru Thursday. More details can be found on their website, BHMansion.com.

Salem’s 3-D Haunted House adds a twist by making this tour a 3-D extravaganza. You can also purchase combo tickets to get nightly walking tour through parts of Salem. Visit their website to get more info about tickets and the 3-D Haunted house.
Spooky World may be the largest of the haunted houses in the area with their two locations in Litchfield, NH and Cranston, RI. Based on feedback I read online, it seems like you would be best inclined to purchase their VIP tickets, but these come at a hefty price of ~$60 on Friday and Saturday or ~$50 Sunday thru Thursday.
