Buble singing with a fan

Thanks to David over at WGB for posting this video on his FB page this weekend. I believe I’ve posted this video before but I love it (and Michael Buble) so I’m using this as an excuse to repost.

Pulp Fiction with a Kerry accent

Pulp Fiction with a Kerry AccentNot sure if you’ve seen this video clip, but apparently students in Tralee, Ireland have dubbed scenes from Tarantino’s film Pulp Fiction in a Kerry accent.  I love it when Vince (John Travolta) and Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) say “royale with cheese” in the Kerry accent, it is absolutely hilarious.

Game of Thrones

Rob ReinerGame of Thrones Season 3 starts at the end of March and CinestirTV has created a masterful mash up video called “The Princess Bride Promo”.

I’ll admit I’m hooked on this HBO series, and i am looking forward to the third season.  I would also rank Reiner’s fantasy parody,  The Princess Bride as an all time personal favorite movie so I couldn’t resist sharing this when I found it. Enjoy the mash up.

dejan djordjevicOn a related note, a talented friend of mine here in Boston has created his own mash up video of the movies, Mean Girls and Evil Dead.  I love his write up about the video. “When the queen bee’s reign is threatened by the new girl in school, Mia’s (Regina George) plan of attack turns sour when the Burn Book unleashes something far more sinister.”

Check out Dejan’s mash up video here.

The Nope

I love how Cosmopolitan has celebrated the new Pope.

The Nope

The white smoke has emerged from the chimney and a new pope was chosen in Vatican City…and at Cosmo, this was the first thing that came to our minds.

Pope Francis, this one’s for you!

Hatfields & McCoys filming in South End

Patrick John FluegerSince Massachusetts passed a tax credit to encourage more filming in the state, it seems like every month there is a movie being filmed somewhere in the city.  However, I’m hard pressed to think of the last time a television show inconvenienced me with a filming. But we just received notice that March 13-15 and 19-20 filming will take place on Waltham Street for the television show, Hatfields & McCoys. I’m not familiar with the show, but a quick look at IMDB let me know that Patrick John Flueger is reason enough to be excited to see them filming down the street. I wonder if he is this handsome in person?

Starwood Hotels new advertising campaign

Impressive Packages

In light of my previous post about hotel chain rankings, perhaps, I can suggest Starwood consider spicing up their advertising to get more attention.  I have to admit I’d be tempted to learn more about their impressive packages.  Then again, maybe this would be an example of why it is best to leave this sort of thing to advertising professionals.

Southie Rules

Southie RulesThe A&E network will roll-out a new reality show later this month that supposedly shows viewers “real life” in Southie; one of Boston’s working class, Irish enclaves that in recent years has seen an influx of young professionals.

I have no doubt many in the area will beam with pride because a cable network channel will broadcast what I assume will be stereotypical “characters” to scripted dramas manufactured more for ratings than any concern for reality. Funny, I thought shows like Real Housewives and Jersey Shore were waning in popularity – perhaps not.

My lack of interest in this latest un-reality program turned to disdain when I saw The Boston Globe had listed a series of promo ads from A&E. One of the promos meant to be a put-down to NYC “Nobody tells us how big our soda should be” sounds as if it came directly from a NYC advertising agency. Anyone who has lived their life in Southie will tell you Soda, Pop, Coke… is all called one thing in Boston — Tonic. Get your colloquialisms correct or “Póg Mo Thón”.

Single Ladies Gone Wrong

I don’t know how I missed this video and want to thank my friend Joe for sharing this classic.  The video’s title, Single Ladies Gone Wrong, really sums this up best. I promise this will give you a good chuckle.
