Scott Herman

Scott Herman – NH native

Glum that the weekend is rapidly coming to an end? Me too so I thought I’d post a photo of Scott Herman, who is from New England.  Not only is he incredibly easy on the eyes, but he’s a great LGBT ally.

Steve Frayne

Steve Frayne may be the most famous magician / illusionist I’ve never heard of before.  Frayne is the U.K.’s version of David Blaine.  Perhaps best known for walking across the Thames, I loved this new video.

Idina Menzel in Boston this week

Idina Menzel’s tour Barefoot at the Symphony comes Boston this week when she performs at the Wang on Saturday night, September 29th.

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to see Idina perform part of her show when she was a special guest on the Western Caribbean Sea Atlantis Cruise.  Although the sets are the same, I’m inclined to think that her comments may have been a bit more raw knowing she was performing in front of an entirely gay audience. If you are going to the show in Boston we can always compare notes after.

So You Think You Can Dance

Twitch dancerOn Tuesday I was watching So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD for short). One of the performances included a former contestant who comes back periodically to dance with current contestants.  Anyone who has watched SYTYCD over the years will recognize Twitch.

I loved Twitch from the moment I saw him audition however many years ago on SYTYCD.  Here is a video of Twitch from a couple of years ago dancing with contestant, Kherington Payne.

Anderson Cooper

Kristin Chenoweth is adorable teasing Anderson Cooper about his summer.  Her cute comments result in Anderson addressing his decision to come out (again) this past summer.

Molly Ringwald: When it happens to you

When it happens to youTomorrow, Molly Ringwald will be in Boston (Brookline to be precise) to read from her second book When it Happens to You.

Although this is Ringwald’s second book it is her fiction debut.  The story, which revolves around  Greta and Phillip, a Southern California couple whose marriage dissolves amid revelations of infidelity, was recently reviewed by the NY Times.

Molly Ringwald may have been out of the spotlight since her teenage years when she ruled on the silver screen, but I still have soft spot in my heart for her.

For more information about tomorrow’s reading by Molly Ringwald contact The Bookline Booksmith.

Happy birthday Jennifer Coolidge

Jennifer Coolidge may be one of my absolute favorite female actors. I first saw her in Best in Show, but truthfully she’s been a part of many excellent movies.

Coincidentally, Jennifer happens to be a native of Boston and often returns. I absolutely love her and hope she has a wonderful birthday.

Sandra Bullock’s film The Heat filming in South End

Sandra-BullockThe Heat has been filming in and around Boston for quite a few months.  Earlier today we received notice that the filming which has gone on all around the area will be coming to my neighborhood (actually my street to be specific).

Filming is expected to occur Tuesday and Wednesday, August 28 – 29th.

Are you a movie buff or pop cuture addict?  Play hooky and come down to SoWa to catch a glimpse of all the fun.

Ryan Gosling pillow

Wouldn’t it be great to snuggle up next to Ryan Gosling in bed this morning? I love the red print below that says “easy clean up: just hose him off“.  Should someone ever create this, I’m afraid to think about how many might actually sell.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

Jacqueline Kennedy

“I want minimum information given with maximum politeness.”

A friend was recently commented on the lack of “class” exhibited by everyone (present company included – I’m not one to cast aspersions) and it got me to thinking this world could use a few more Jackie O’s.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis may have died nearly a decade ago twenty years ago but she is still missed.  Well that is how I feel anyway.

Put your graffiti on me

I like the Kat Graham’s song and a catchy tune on a Friday afternoon can help time pass. Can you name the notorious designer who used this song in his risque video?

A day in the life of a storm trooper

Stefan Le DuWhen I saw this photograph on TwistedSifter.com I couldn’t help but swipe it. Hope it makes you smile too.

Rumors Orlando Bloom to play Romeo on Broadway

Earlier this month The Sun reported that Orlando Bloom might be headed to Broadway in a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. No further information was provided, but this would be Bloom’s debut on Broadway if the rumor is true.

I love this play and have long enjoyed Bloom.  It is not hard for me to imagine him as a Montague.

Garfunkel and Oates

At the start of this summer I posted this video from Garfunkel and Oates.  These two women share their comedy through song.

It never ceases to amaze me how many, self confident, attractive women seem to snap after they turn 30.  This video pokes fun at that phenomenon.  Note that this video is not safe for work (NSFW).
