Out Magazine spotlights bachelorette parties in Ptown

Entering-ProvincetownNearly every gay blogger I know has at some point written about the unfortunate phenomenon of bachelorette parties overtaking gay bars.  David over at Wicked Gay Blog has written about this a number of times here and here most notably. I too have bemoaned this in the past in my 2014 post, When Bridezilla Brings Her Friends to Your Gay Bar.

Earlier this week Sergio’s copy of Out Magazine arrived and in this issue is Chadwick Moore’s article, Rattling the Hen Cage.  The reason I opted to highlight this article is because Moore wrote this article after visiting Provincetown last August. He spoke to some of the locals about this phenomenon, like Tom Yaz the popular video jockey at The Crown & Anchor’s Wave Bar, who shared his secret for helping rid his bar of bachelorette parties (albeit with mixed success I’ll admit having been swarmed by these ladies more than a few times).

It’s a Friday night in Provincetown, in late August, and the mise-en-scène of this delicate ecosystem, plopped atop a sandbar in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, is being threatened by a new and unfamiliar scourge. They are called, simply, The Bachelorettes.  Read the full article here.

Provincetown’s Carnival celebration starts five months from today

Provincetown’s week long Carnival celebration is always a blast and every year Sergio and I try to make it a point to attend.  For those unfamiliar with the popular theme week, there are multiple fun activities planned every day, but the most fun is the parade which takes place on Thursday, August 18th. Last year’s theme was Candy Land and I’ve included a video showing some of the fun to whet your appetite and encourage you to plan a visit to Ptown for Carnival 2016.

Are you contemplating a visit or do you need some help planning a trip to Provincetown? Reach out and I’d be happy to help you plan your trip to Ptown.
