The more I watch and learn about Nyle DiMarco the better looking he gets.

Thomas Knights began his career as a music producer and performer, but these days you are more likely to recognize his solo exhibition, Red Hot, which is an ongoing project to rebrand the ginger male stereotype. The success of the work has resulted in raising funds to end bullying, exhibits in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York and Sydney and now his 2017 calendar.
Sound interesting? You can check out Thomas Knights images from the 2017 calendar (note that it is most definitely not work-friendly). Like what you see? You can get yourself a copy of the calendar here.
This photo is courtesy of The History Project, Boston’s LGBTQ community archives and part of the Roger & Frank Revisited: Gay Life & Love in the 1950s & 1960s with Robert Young that will take place later this month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. Photos from this collection offer a glimpse into a group of gay men living their lives in New York, Provincetown, and — Robert recently discovered — Andover, Massachusetts.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited! RSVPs are required, via Eventbrite.
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share for a future post? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.
This past September I shared a post featuring a variety of LGBT sports teams and clubs you could join as a way to get out and meet people. Thanks to some helpful comments in that post and help from my friend Marc Davino, I’ve updated that post to include all 18 LGBT sports leagues / teams.
Some of these clubs / teams are seasonal so take that into account when you reach out to these groups and best of luck to you.
Cambridge Boston Volleyball Association
GURL – Gay Urban Running League
Liquid Assets New England Swimming (LANES)
OutRyders: New England’s Gay Ski & Snowboard Club
QuICK – Queer Inclusive Climbing Klub
Frontrunners: Boston Gay Running Club
Apologies if I have overlooked any area gay clubs or sports leagues. Feel free to add information for any such group in the comments section of my blog.
Francis Bacon met George Dyer in 1964 when the younger man burgled the artist’s apartment. Dyer was impressed by Bacon’s self-confidence and artistic success, and Bacon acted as a protector and father figure to the insecure younger man until Dyer’s suicide in 1971. Bacon continued to paint Dyer for some years after, including works that are among the artist’s most famous: his black triptychs painted in 1972-74.

King Cobra which comes out next month is based on the early rise of gay porn headliner Sean Paul Lockhart a.k.a. Brent Corrigan. The movie trailer has just become available so I’ve posted it below to share.
According to its IMDB page the movie is about “Sean Paul Lockhart a.k.a. Brent Corrigan before his falling out with the producer, Stephen, played by Christian Slater who made him famous. When Sean decides he’d be better off a free agent, a cash-strapped pair of rival producers aim to cash in by any means possible.”
King Cobra has an impressive cast including James Franco, Christian Slater, Molly Ringwald, Alicia Silverstone Garrett Clayton and Keegan Allen. Look for King Cobra in theaters starting Friday, October 21st.
