Azealia Banks: 212 featuring Lazy Jay

Everywhere I turn, I feel as if I hear people talking about Azealia Banks.  She definitely has a catchy delivery and I can’t get the shouting / rapping style unique to her out of my head.

Are you a fan of Azealia Banks?  If you’re not familiar with her, be warned the lyrics aren’t appropriate for children or in a place of business.

Obama campaign hits Romney hard

Obama’s latest campaign commercial has conservatives howling “unfair”.  It also happens to be very effective. The out-of-tune singing of Gov. Romney creates a powerful not so subliminal message painting the former governor as out of tune and step.  Will it work? The quick and harsh response from the candidate speaks for itself.  Curious to see how Romney counter-punches and if it has the same sting as this advert.

US Airforce: Sexy and I know it

This video which was posted on YouTube this past fall totally passed me by. How did I miss this? It makes the song so much less annoying when I can watch these handsome young men.

Apparently the video was created to pump up the Air Force football team before they played Army, but was deemed “too inappropriate”.  I will admit the video gets a whole lot more entertaining after the 1 minute mark as they dance around in their boxers and little else.

Chubbies in the wild

This is so not right and at the same time I feel like I could watch this two minute video over and over and over… you’ll see what I mean.  Thanks to @BostonMo for tipping me off about this video from earlier this year.

Playboy South Africa Video

I sometimes wonder if any heterosexual men read my blog.  For those who stop by on occasion, thank you.  This post is for you.

Speak up for those with no voice

Imagine if it were illegal for you to be you

My friend, David, from Frenchie and the Yankee blog brought this video to my attention, and I wanted to use my blog to help spread the word.  Presently 78 countries persecute people for being gay; in five of those countries the maximum penalty is death.

It should never be a crime to be gay

Coco Peru: There Comes A Time

ProvincetownCoco Peru performed in Provincetown last week.  She has since moved on to Rehoboth Beach where she will be performing on Wednesday, July 11th.

We attended her show on Thursday, July 5th in Provincetown, but we received a sneak peek at Ryan Landry’s weekly talent show, ShowGirls.  Due to recent drama between Ryan Landry and the owner of the Crown & Anchor (ShowGirls previous home) the show had been moved to The Pied.  The venue was tight to say the least and the acoustics left a lot to be desired so apologies for the background noise.

Enjoy Coco’s take on the Mormon Church and her theory on why there are so many “out” gay men in Australia.Note: this is a bonus track and not part of Coco Peru’s There Comes A Time show.

Letters to Cleo: Here and Now

One reason I love Boston is because it has an amazing music scene. Something about having more than 60 colleges and universities within a 30 mile radius of Boston probably has something to do with that.

In the 1990s I loved this local band and saw them more than a few times. The band has since gone its separate ways, but I still love ’em.

Provincetown: Bear Week

Immediately following 4th of July Week is Bear Week in Provincetown.  The two weeks could not be more different as twinks, circuit boys and others will file out on Saturday, July 7th and burly, hairy men arrive.

I stumbled upon this excellent YouTube video from Provincetown’s Bear Week 2011.  It is worth watching.  TorontoKub did a great job pulling this together, and if you identify as a bear, cub, otter (whatever) I think the video will make you smile and perhaps even consider booking a trip to Ptown for Bear Week 2013.

4th of July celebrations in Ptown

Tomorrow is one of the biggest holidays of the year for Americans.  I’m spending the holiday on the beach in Provincetown.  Curious what the 4th is like in Provincetown?  Here is a  video from all the fun last year.

Philip Defranco: Oreo controversy

I’m sure by now you’ve seen the rainbow Oreo cookie picture and perhaps you’ve even heard about the ridiculous backlash from the Evangelicals and Christian Conservatives in the US.

Yesterday’s Philip DeFranco Show on YouTube pretty much summed up my feelings about this too.

It’s a f*cking cookie guys!?! Chill

You can watch the entire broadcast or just listen to the bit about “Oreo-gate” since he leads with the story.

Sh*t gay guys say…

I believe I posted this video when it first came out in January, but while in NYC last week I was reminded of the video so I thought I’d post it.  If you’re not familiar, it is worth watching.  Phil Mutz is hilarious, and just to clarify, the video opens with him repeatedly saying “Not to act all gay…” then proceeds to act all “gay” for the next 2 minutes.

Natasha Leggero

I was watching Jay Leno’s Tonight Show and couldn’t believe how funny Natasha was.  I also couldn’t believe how much she resembled a young Susana Hoffs (lead singer of the 80s gal band, The Bangles).

Not familiar with Natasha Leggero? Here is a video of her explaining why hip hop music drives her crazy. I kind of agree.

Boston BBQ Beach Party June 22-24

This weekend is the annual Phantom Gourmet’s BBQ Beach Party, or should I say Beach Paaahty? The event is located at City Hall Plaza (take the Green & Blue line to Gov’t Center T station) and costs $10 at the event but can be purchased in advance for $5. In addition to some of the best BBQ you are likely to taste, there is a mini-beer garden and plenty of other temptations for your taste buds.  The event runs from FRI and SAT 12PM – 9:45PM / SUN 12PM – 6:45PM.

More information about the event and how to purchase tickets can be found on the website.

Abercrombie & Fitch models: Call me maybe

Carly Rae’s Call Me Maybe just might go down as the most over-played pop song of the summer. However, when Abercrombie & Fitch realeased this video last week, I couldn’t help but watch and I’m assuming many of you will feel the same.  For those truly tired of the song, I might suggest just turning down the volume – it doesn’t diminish the appeal of the video one bit.
