Temptation Tuesday

Temptation Tuesday, hunk, sports, handsome, underwearI’m not much of one for football but since most of America is obsessing over the pending Superbowl that will take place this weekend I thought I’d have an appropriately themed Temptation Tuesday post this week. Do you approve?

Puerto Rican winter weekend

Sergio, RobSergio and I spent a long weekend in San Juan.  Although Boston’s winter has been mild, it was nice to get away to enjoy a Puerto Rican winter for a few days. It had been several years since we’d last been to the La Concha Resort in San Juan and it was nice to return to this friendly and familiar Caribbean get away.

Our days consisted of deciding if we should lay out at the pool or beach and walking around our hotel grounds and the neighboring Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. In the evenings Sergio played a bit with the slot machines and I enjoyed some time at the roulette tables and both of us walked away the poorer for our efforts. However the Veuve Clicquot was so plentiful at La Concha’s bar our casino losses were a pittance as compared to our budget for Champagne.

Puerto Rico San Juan 2016 MenThe man candy never disappoints at La Concha and neighboring Vanderbilt Hotel proved to have equally if not superior eye candy.  Above are a few photos of the guys we enjoyed chatting with and ogling over the weekend.

If you are planning a visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico let me know and I’d be happy to provide recommendations on places to go and restaurants to try.

Get your tickets to the Taste of the South End

ToseThe Taste of the South End takes place one month from today. The money raised benefits the AIDS Action Committee of MA and often sells out. More than 40 of the neighborhood’s restaurants will be present and there will be plenty to drink as well as entertaining cooking demonstrations so check it out.

Boston’s LGBT community is the nation’s 5th largest

boyfriendsThe US Census Bureau ties Boston and Seattle with the 5th highest metro area of LGBT residents as a percentage of the total population. That translates into way more than the 1° of separation we joke about, but because our community has been part of the mainstream culture for so long at times we can seem invisible.

To remain both visible and viable we need to support existing LGBT owned businesses and encourage new ones to open. We need make ourselves more visible so when people move to the area they can find a community and make connections more easily, offering viable options to apps like Grindr & Scruff.

Fortunately, there are groups like the Welcoming Committee, The Fellows, Opus Affair and Gay For Good and many sports clubs that can help guys connect.  For more information about those organizations visit my September 2015 posts, Making friends in Boston through local sports teams and clubs and for a more complete list of LGBT social organizations check out, Making friends in Boston (Social Clubs and Groups).

Bonus fur

Willy Warmer

heater for your peterThis item from BigMouth Inc has a 4.5 star rating on Amazon.com. This must be a gag gift. It certainly would be funny to include in a Yankee Swap. Wish I had seen it during the holiday season. No need for it down here in Puerto Rico.

BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, brain teaserEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, feel free to get help – share it with a friend or colleague to see if you can figure it out together.

I’ll confirm answers later in the day so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away.

This weeks riddle:  A poor man is sitting in a pub. He sees that the man next to him is extremely rich.  The poor man leans over to the rich man and says,”I have an amazing talent; I know almost every song that has ever existed.  I am willing to bet you all the money you have in your wallet that I can sing a popular song that includes a lady’s name of your choosing.

The rich man laughs and says, “OK, my daughter’s name is Joanna Armstrong-Miller.

The poor man went home rich.  Name that song.
