Do you remember this alternative rock hit by King Missile? I remember Boston radio station, 101.7 WFNX, having this in heavy rotation when it first came out in the early 90s, but I hadn’t given it much thought until I was reading Blobby’s blog last week, and I saw his accompanying photo to his post, Penis Song.
The lyrics of this song still make me laugh. The opening line is, “I woke up this morning with a bad hangover and my penis was missing again.” If you’ve never heard the song before I’m glad I could share it with you and if you are familiar – enjoy the throwback.

Local author, Scott Pomfret, has a new book that looks ideal for summer reading. While I’ve yet to read the book, I liked the review Edge Media shared and thought I’d pass this along to anyone looking for some light summer reading.
“Give my boy ninety-nine solid choices and one disastrous one, and he’ll choose disaster every time.”
Those harsh words are spoken by Loretta Stone, not out of judgment but concern and pity for her son, Peyton, the subject of Scott Pomfret’s exciting, touching new romance, “The Second Half: A Gay American Football Novel.”

Bear Week in Provincetown now attracts tens of thousands of men from all over the US and the world. Many of those men have started arriving in Boston today so they can take a fast ferry to Ptown Saturday morning for their weekly rental.
Ptown Bears encourages their readers to head over to The Alley early and I would do the same with my readers who may be looking for something different / fun to do tonight. Typically this is one of the busiest nights for The Alley so if you are looking for something different to do, head over to The Alley but don’t be too fashionably late otherwise you will likely be standing in line.
One of my favorite things to do when in Provincetown is to visit the galleries on Friday evenings when many of them open their doors with new exhibits. Tomorrow, Friday, July 8th the Jo Hay Studio now located at 167 Commercial Street opens with their new show, SIMPLY MASCULINE by artist Chris López. The work pays tribute to those who identify as Bears on the eve of Bear Week 2016. Should you happen to visit Provincetown check out this show which runs from Friday, July 8 – Friday, July 15.
You can read more about Chris López and the Jo Hay Gallery, here.
The Highland Street Foundation is sponsoring Free Fun Fridays again. This week enjoy the following free venues thanks to the Highland Street Foundation: Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Peabody Essex Museum and more.

Garçon Model’s selfie contest is in full swing now that summer has arrived. They are asking fans of their clothing line to take a selfie wearing your favorite Garçon Model underwear / swimwear and upload it with the hashtag #GarconModel to your Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram account for a chance to win a free pair.
They give away one pair of underwear to 3 lucky guys each month so put on your favorite Garçon Model underwear or swimsuit and grab your camera.
I want to dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price.
