Everyone who completes the survey by May 15th may opt to be entered into a drawing to win one of twenty US $50, or if you win you can select a charity to receive the $50.

One week from today is The Theater Offensive annual fund raiser climACTS! This year’s party, climACTS! Bounce features an array of performances that celebrate the LGBTQ community.
Performer, Big Freedia, will emcee the event and perform the up-tempo New Orleans style hip hop music she has made famous. Also performing is the dance troupe Skydance Philly, promising a gravity-defying, sensual performance.

Since 1989, The Theater Offensive has served its mission with groundbreaking interactive workshops and shows by, for, and about the LGBTQ community. Our work is called OUT In Your Neighborhood (OUT’hood) because we go beyond traditional theater spaces. OUT’hood reflects the diversity of Boston, gives voice to underserved LGBTQ community members, creates avenues for cross-cultural dialogue, and breaks down the barriers of homophobia, racism, bigotry and hate.
Broadway Bares, is an unrivaled evening of sexy striptease that is part burlesque and part razzle-dazzle with all proceeds going to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year’s theme “Strip U” released some eye raising photos and videos for the 27th burlesque show of buff Broadway stars.
This year’s show will take place at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom June 18 and will be directed by Nick Kenkel, whose Broadway credits include “Catch Me If You Can,” “Evita” and “The Wedding Singer.

Organizers are fundraising to accommodate 32 of the survivors from the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando who have indicated they would like to travel to Boston Pride later this summer to celebrate Pride one year after the horrible tragedy which resulted in 49 people being murdered and 53 wounded.
To make this a reality a Go Fund Me page was set up. The benefit originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 18th at Club Cafe has been postponed but more details will follow shortly. In the interim share the Go Fund Me link with friends to help raise funds to bring these survivors to Boston for a weekend celebrating Pride: Go Fund Me page.
This photo captures a moment that has been a long time in the making. I have not lounged beach side since Sergio and I visited Miami in late January to escape Boston’s winter. Little did we know at the time that January and February would be more mild than the start of our spring.
A week ago I published a blog post asking for book suggestions so imagine my surprise when a professor from a local university who happens to live in my neighborhood reached out to let me know about a book he has collaborated, edited and recently published called, The Boys in the Band’: Flashpoints of Cinema, History, and Queer Politics.
Inspired by the play / movie, this book includes a collection of essays on the 1970 film “The Boys in the Band” that would be of interest to those interested in queer studies and film. For those who may have never had a chance to see this groundbreaking film, I’d suggest you consider streaming it.

BosGuy Traveling + Wicked Busy with Work = Time for Mancandy post
Last week I asked for some book suggestions and as always happens when I put out such a request Call Me By Your Name was suggested. This is one of my favorite gay-themed novels so imagine my surprise when one of the people who left a comment said that the book is being made into a movie.
Elio the young man that the book centers on is played by Timothée Chalamet and the American graduate student who moves in with Elio’s family for the summer, Oliver, is played by Armie Hammer. If you are unfamiliar with the book, I would highly recommend reading it and then keep an eye out for the movie which according to IMDB will open in late November 2017.

On June 12, 2016, a terrorist traveled to Orlando and targeted members of our community. The result was the worst mass shooting in US history; 49 murdered in cold blood and 53 others horribly wounded, fearing for their lives.
Boston based LGBT advocates and organizations want to open our arms, envelop these amazing individuals, and honor the brave survivors throughout the weekend of Boston Pride, June 9-12, 2017 but to do so they need your help so a GoFundMe page has been set up, seeking donations.
