In two weeks Fenway Health will host one of the largest LGBT fundraisers in New England.  The Men’s Event, which takes place on Saturday, March 11th will draw more than 1,300 supporters to raise funds for one of the nation’s largest LGBT clinics and to bring our community together to celebrate our accomplishments. Unlike recent years, a chilling shift in political currents has taken place in the United States and after having a friend in the White House for the past eight years, the LGBT community finds itself facing a President who says he’s a friend but who’s actions indicate something very different.
It is important for our community to come together and support each other which is one reason Sergio and I will be attending this year’s program. Tickets remain available for the 2016 Men’s Event on Saturday, March 19. To learn more about the event or to purchase tickets visit, mensevent.org.

Earlier this week discount airline, Norwegian Air, rolled out a killer sale for flights from Providence, RI to introduce new flight routes that will begin later this summer from that airport. The new nonstop flights to Scotland and Ireland which start at $65 for a one way fare are now sold out, but Norwegian Air says its long term lowest fares on these routes will remain quite low, with more deals to come with fares starting as low as at $99 one way.
Norwegian’s eye-popping introductory fares show just how much competition there is among European discount airlines which in recent years have set their sights on U.S. airports. Norwegian, along with Icelandic upstart WOW Air, have added multiple new routes between the New England and Europe recently.

Over the next two weeks four local theater companies have new productions. Â If you are looking for a fun date night or an evening out with friends, consider supporting Boston’s local theater scene and purchase tickets to one or more of these shows (tickets are currently on sale for all of these productions).
Later this week Lyric Stage Co. opens with their production of Stage Kiss a funny play that asks what happens when life imitates art. In this show, two former lovers are cast to play two long lost lovers. The actors quickly lose touch with reality as their stage and real life blurs. What could possibly happen?
Central Square Theater opens with Precious Little on Thursday, March 2, 2017. A research linguist, Brodie, receives genetic testing results: her unborn child may never be able to learn a language. Three actresses play multiple roles in Madeleine George’s irreverent exploration of one of our most fundamental questions: when does too much knowledge get in the way of our basic instincts?
On Friday, March 3, 2017, The SpeakEasy Stage Co. opens with Grand Concourse. A drama that explores the mysteries of faith, forgiveness and compassion. As the main character looks to find greater meaning in her life.
The second week of March the Huntington Theater opens with Top Dog / Underdog. Directed by Tony Award winner, Billy Porter, the play focuses on two brothers who are best friends and bitter rivals in this darkly comic, deeply theatrical fable about family wounds and healing bonds.
While there is no shortage of dating apps on the market, a new study from New York City-based research firm, 7Park Data finds that Grindr tops the list when it comes to user engagement with the average user spending 2.75 hours a week, far surpassing other dating apps like Badoo and Tinder. Read into this what you will, but it won’t come as a surprise to gay men familiar with the app.
Grindr first launched in 2009 and is widely credited (or complained about – it all depends on your perspective) for transforming the way millions of smartphone bisexual and gay men interact with each other. Grindr now has more than 5 million monthly active users.

The Trump administration has announced a new attack on transgender students, indicating they will stop enforcing Title IX education protections, and they will rescind the guidance released by the Obama administration last May.
What: Rally to stand with trans students

Where: Post Office Square || 43 Pearl Street, Boston
Join the Mass Trans Political Coalition (MTPC), and their coalition partners in standing with trans students in solidarity against the White House. The LGBTQ Conference organized by student clubs at Harvard University opening reception is from 8:00 – 10:00 PM on Friday. The following morning, Saturday, February 25th, the full conference takes place. This year’s theme is A Call to Action: Advocacy, Agency, and Alliances for a Changing Globe.
The conference which has a nominal registration fee, includes an interesting and diverse line up of more than 18 speakers and presenters ranging from U.S. Congressman Mark Takano from California’s 41st District to Ty Cobb, Director HRC Global, to Adrian Acencion Martinez from Greenpeace.

Apparently I’m an IG stalker. I’m not even sure how I started following @jabella36, but his sense of humor, great body and a disregard for clothing probably all contributed to my following his account. The photo shared above was posted on January 1 which leads me to believe this must’ve been his New Year’s Eve outfit. I hope I get an invitation to next year’s party. It looks like fun.
