Ptown humor

Ptown, ProvincetownThis is one of those annoying geography-themed bits of humor that makes absolutely no sense if you’ve never been to Provincetown but makes me smirk every time I see it.

Donna Summer Roller Disco in Gov’t Center Friday, June 19th

Boston, Together Boston, Donna Summer Roller DiscoI first wrote about this back in April, but I wanted to remind everyone that later this week the city of Boston in conjunction with Together Boston will host their second annual Donna Summer Roller Disco in Government Center on Friday, June 19th.  Last years party was a blast but the lines to get onto the rink were crazy long so this is one party where it pays to be early otherwise you may end up spending most of your time in line.

Date:  Friday, June 19th
Time: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Where:  Boston City Hall / Gov’t Center

Here are a few photos from last year’s inaugural Donna Summer Roller Disco.BosGuy, Boston Guy

Boston Pride June 5-14, 2015

Boston Pride 2015Boston’s 45th Pride celebration closes tonight Sunday, June 14th and while I attended fewer events this year than in the past, reports indicate most events were well attended. Once again the surprise highlight of the week was the 2nd Annual Heels for Hope party on June 10th at Cathedral Station raising money for BAGLY.

Warm weather and plenty of sunshine helped bring a larger than expected crowd into Boston on Saturday to watch the parade and parties around the city. Thank you to everyone who shared photographs and were nice enough to pose.

Modern airplane seating chart

Airplane Seating ChartAs I get ready to fly out to CA I couldn’t help but wonder exactly where I might be seated in my flight.  My money is on the “Where is your God now” Economy seat most likely directly by the “Child kicking or banging on your headrest”.

Broadway Bares – Sunday, June 21st

Broadway Bares for AIDSOUT Magazine has a nice spread on next week’s Broadway Bares, an annual fundraiser that includes some of Broadway’s most talented and beautiful entertainers to come together and raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The article looks back at some of the great images captured by usty St. Amand, Jenny Anderson, Andrew Eccles, Kevin Thomas Garcia, Ryan Mueller, Paul Reitz, Daniel Roberts, Jonathan Tichier, Rob Sutton, Tom Viola, Tomas Vrzalax, and Peter. You can read the article here.

For more information about this year’s 25th Broadway Bares, to donate and for information about tickets visit their NSFW website, broadwaybares.com.

Thanks to BosGuy reader, Paul G. for sending me OUT Magazine’s article.

Chandler Street Block Party at Boston Pride

Boston Pride

Chandler Street Block Party

One of the most fun events of Boston Pride isn’t even an official Pride event, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stop by and check it out.

Located on the corner of Chandler and Berkeley Street in the heart of the South End this is a lot of fun when the weather cooperates.

Saturday, June 13th
1:30pm – 7pm
Berkeley & Chandler St.

There is a $15 donation collected that goes to AIDS Action Committee so by coming out and having fun with your friends you are actually helping a great local non-profit.

Boston Pride

Boston Pride is in full swing so Sergio and I will be out enjoying the company of friends.  A couple years ago I pulled together a video of Boston Pride Week (at least the events I attended in 2013).  If you’ve never been to Boston Pride this gives you a quick look at some of the events.  Have a great weekend.

Furry Friday

Dirk Caber and Jesse JackmanHere is a Boston Pride themed Furry Friday post from a year or two ago at the Back Bay block party.  These friends aren’t the least bit camera shy.

Past Furry Friday Posts

BosGuy brain teaser

brain teaser, rodin, riddleEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain.

If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s riddle

With 3 or 4 points, I can cause pain,
If you use me a lot and weight you will gain.

Sometimes I’m paired with a blade,
I’m quite useful and totally man made.

What am I?
