A couple weeks ago I shared Max Emerson’s funny first episode from his Underpants YT series. Last week Max released his second episode – this time working with the ever so handsome Colby Melvin. Enjoy the eye candy and tongue-in-cheek video clip.
Much thanks to @PoachedBoston on Twitter for suggesting I listen to Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast. At the end of the first episode I listened to they gave a shout out to John Kevin Boggs who recently passed away. Kevin Boggs (as they referred to him) shares a touching story in the video above that left me a bit teary eyed. Having said that, the six minute video will make you laugh out loud. He is that rare individual who can weave humor into any story.
The 1980s Queer activist group Act Up was the first to slap “Silence = Death” stickers all over Boston. While we’ve thankfully moved beyond those times, the basic premise remains true. LGBT issues become more acceptable when they are openly discussed so I applaud the #RingYourGranny campaign in Ireland.
On May 22nd, Ireland will vote on the Marriage Equality referendum, deciding whether or not same-sex couples can get legally married there. I’m posting this to voice my support and to ask anyone who might have relatives in Ireland to call them and ask them how they plan to vote. Sometimes all it takes is the courage to speak up.

Last week’s Saturday night video Repeat Stuff with Tom Goss and Max Emerson was so popular I thought I’d feature Max Emerson’s newest video, Underpants Episode One which appeared on Youtube earlier this week.

Last Saturday I came home after a fun night out but couldn’t sleep so I started watching a broadcast of the 2011 Kylie Minogue Mighty Aphrodite tour. Kylie kicked off her US tour in Boston in late April 2011 and watching the broadcast brought back many happy memories and made me realize how much I would like to see her back here performing.
What was one of your favorite live performances of all time?
OMG this is hilarious. The SNL skit appeared during the holidays when I was out of the country so much thanks to my friend Tracey for telling me about it. I was absolutely addicted to the Serial Podcast and this is brilliantly done.
I previously wrote about this fun annual tasting that raises money for the AIDS Action Committee of MA, but I wanted to give one more shout out for those of you who may have been contemplating attending but had yet to buy tickets.

More than 40 of the neighborhood’s restaurants will share tempting bites that range from the savory to the sweet. Last night season eight of The Voice premiered (does this show ever go off air?) and Christina Aguilera is back once again as a coach. To promote the show she joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. Jimmy asked her to play “Wheel of Musical Impressions” where she had to channel the likes of Cher, Brittany and Shakira. She was flawless and perhaps at her best singing The Folger’s jingle as Cher, but even Brittany fans are likely to love her version of how Ms. Spears might sing “This Little Piggy”. Say what you will but sitting down without any heads up she does a better live impersonation of Brittany Spears than Brittany could.
Here is another video from Post Modern Jukebox. This remake of the Backstreet Boys hit I Want It That Way, features Shoshana Bean and I have to admit, despite a slow start, I really love this version and I hope you do too.
