Andy Serkis is an English actor and director probably best known as the voice of Gollum, a fictional character from The Lord of the Rings movies. Last week he happened to be on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert when the host, Stephen Colbert, asked if he would read one of Donald Trump’s recent tweets.
This could make for a great political commercial next fall. It is both hilarious and frightening. If you missed it, check out this 90-second clip.
This is both hilarious and difficult to watch, and it may not be appropriate to watch in front of children or at the office. According to The LAD Bible an Australian Facebook page that posts funny videos and photos, these “Penis Cakes” are a traditional treat in Taiwan.
I feel like I need to share this with Shane (Connie’s Bakery) and Frank (Relish) or perhaps this might be an alternative to pizza for a late night bite at Spiritus.
Shooting has started for the 2018 Red Hot calendar. Now in its fifth year, the organizers of the annual celebration of ginger men shared a video trailer of a shoot in London along with a new Kickstarter fundraiser to make sure it becomes a reality.
This year’s theme is ‘British Boys’ and proceeds raised will help the fight against homophobic bullying by raising money for the Ben Cohen STANDUP foundation. Below I’ve included the YouTube teaser video if you’ve yet to see it.
The current issue of OUT Magazine has a great article “Pride on the Screen” which looks back at queer cinema. One of the movies featured – a movie that was definitely ahead of its time – is the Oscar winning, The Crying Game.
For many Millennials this may not be a movie they are familiar with since it was released 25 years ago in 1992. It may seem somewhat dated now, after all the idea of terrorism rarely brings to mind Ireland and England, Catholic and Protestant, but 25 years ago the conflict was still very much a reality and more often than not what came to mind when one talked of bombings and terrorism.
2017 Boston Pride officially starts on Friday, June 2nd. To get everyone in the spirit and to promote dbar’s annual parties during pride week (Showtune Tuesday on June 6 and Stoplight Party on June 9) each year the bar holds a photo shoot in Provincetown.
Below is a video from the photo shoot, showing models Nico, Rob and Chris goofing around and appearing to have a lot of fun. Feel free to share with friends.

This past Saturday night, Boston’s LGBT Flag Football group announced at their annual spring awards banquet that the New England Patriots will be a sponsor of the Gay Bowl 17 and the announcement was confirmed by Outsports.
The Gay Bowl is the national LGBT flag football tournament, put on every Columbus Day weekend by the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL). For more information visit the website Gay Bowl XVII.
One thing I have to say about Boston’s Flag Football group is that they know how to have a lot of fun. I always like their videos like this most recent compilation. If you would like to learn more about this Boston gay inclusive sports league, visit their Facebook page, here.
A few years ago John Oliver used his platform on his show on HBO, Last Week Tonight (which, incidentally you can watch on YouTube here), to encourage millions of Americans to demand that the FCC preserve “net neutrality”.
On last week’s show Oliver used his platform again to explain what net neutrality is and why if you happen to be reading this article – it impacts you whether you realize it or not. With his usual wit and zeal, Oliver asked people to visit a website called “GoFCCYourself,” that redirected you to a hidden section of the FCC site where you could comment on the net neutrality proceedings.
Once again millions of Americans did just that. In response to the attention and web traffic Oliver’s show brought to the site, FCC Chairman, Ajit Pai had the website leave the cheeky message you see at the top of this post essentially squelching any chance for you to express your opinion. Interesting side note on Chairman Pai who is new to his role, prior to joining the FCC he spent his career working as an executive at Verizon – a firm that stands to gain a lot if the net neutrality rules are torn up. Welcome to Trump’s America.
Today NBC released this musical promo on YouTube announcing the new season of Will & Grace. Will “Must See TV” make a comeback this fall with Will & Grace? I know I’ll be tuning in.
Melissa McCarthy’s impersonation of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer may be the best impersonation I’ve seen this year. On Friday she took to the streets of Manhattan (literally) to promote this week’s show. This follows a trailer that SNL released earlier this week, which is Ahhhhhhhmazing.
Broadway Bares, is an unrivaled evening of sexy striptease that is part burlesque and part razzle-dazzle with all proceeds going to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year’s theme “Strip U” released some eye raising photos and videos for the 27th burlesque show of buff Broadway stars.
This year’s show will take place at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom June 18 and will be directed by Nick Kenkel, whose Broadway credits include “Catch Me If You Can,” “Evita” and “The Wedding Singer.
Enjoy this humorous sketch from the short-lived American version of the famous British show Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush. You may recognize the blonde, Kaley Cuoco, who is now on the cast of CBS’s hit show The Big Bang Theory.
One of my favorite skits from last night’s SNL with Jimmy Fallon was the reprisal of his reoccurring SNL character “Sully” and the surprise guest appearance of his equally obnoxious girlfriend “Denise” played by Rachel Dratch. Despite the passage of time Sully & Denise still make me laugh.
Apologies for those of you who may feel like my blog is giving too much time to men in kilts but I’ve been following Stephen and Rab a.k.a. the “Kilted Coaches” videos on YT for a couple of months and their recent exercise video on how to strengthen your glutes is so much fun to watch.
As you can see they do get a bit cheeky at the end of their clip so it may not be appropriate to watch in the office, but if you’re interested you can watch the fitness video on YouTube, here.
