FOXY moves to Ramrod
It has been a while since I’ve written about FOXY night, which started in Cambridge on select Sunday nights at clubs in Central Square. The handsome DJs behind these fun evenings recently announced that FOXY is not only changing venues but also changing nights.
FOXY is now on the 1st Saturday at Ramrod Boston
DJs Nathaniel Bluhm and Joseph Colbourne will be playing a heavy rotation of soul music when FOXY night moves to Ramrod this Saturday night. According to the invite on Facebook, you can expect natural, friendly men in T-shirts and tight blue jeans. Sounds tempting and a great alternative worth checking out.

Off to Puerto Rico
This afternoon I will dash off to the airport and if all goes according to plan, I’ll be checking into the W Retreat and Spa in Vieques by 8pm.
While away, my blogging may lag, but I’ll certainly be tweeting so join me on Twitter. On my last visit to Puerto Rico some of my tweets included hashtags like #HotDaddy and #UglyFriskyCouple. There is something so much more interesting about people watching while on vacation.
Living for Friday
Since I’m off to Puerto Rico tomorrow, I’m really fine living in the moment, but for all of you in Boston looking to do something on Friday, there is no shortage of fun ways to distract yourself. However, here are three suggestions.
Last month I wrote about rumors that ManRay / Campus might reopen in Cambridge. Adding credence to the rumor is the ManRay Reunion Party that takes place this Friday at Brighton Music Hall. The reunion will include live dancers, a fashion show, and photography displays among other fun activities. You can buy tickets online here.
It also happens to be the first Friday of the month, which means The Welcoming Committee’s Guerrilla Queer Bar will be in effect. Link here to register so you can receive your update on what traditionally straight bar this group will take over this Friday night. This group gathers quite a large, fun crowd so arrive early so you won’t have to wait outside in a line.
The art studios at 450 Harrison Avenue will be open for First Fridays from 5-9. It is a great date night alternative to the movies or a bar and with so many good restaurants within just a few blocks, if you make a reservation now you can enjoy strolling through studios and participating galleries before grabbing a delicious dinner.

MFA free tonight after 4pm
Did you know that the MFA Boston is open and free to the public each Wednesday, after 4pm?
If the holiday season put a dent in your wallet, this is a very affordable way to get out after work to meet with friends. Note that the this will also be the last Wednesday before the Testino exhibit closes on Feb. 3rd.
Gates foundation annual letter
Each year Bill Gates writes his annual letter from the Gates Foundation and this year’s letter is entitled, How We Measure Impact to Improve Lives.
This world needs more men like Bill Gates. If I were to name a business leader who I admire above all others, I think Bill Gates would top that list. It is difficult to articulate all the good Bill and Melinda Gates have done and continue to do here in the United States and around the world through their foundation.

I can’t believe it was one year ago today we were boarding the Atlantis Caribbean Cruise on the Allure to celebrate Sergio’s birthday. Tonight dinner is on me.

Spanx for men
While shopping at a department store in Boston I stumbled upon this display. It gave me a good chuckle. I’d be tempted to see how this works but I immediately realized hiding my body issues won’t eliminate them. The only cure for that is getting myself to the gym. However, there appear to be no shortage of rather intriguing products targeting men to help them appear more fit and trim. The next time I’m flying, I’ll have to see if Sky Mall sells any of these products.
Or even worse… the Instaslim, Slimming Tank Top.

Here is a little known fact about me. I find guys who wear glasses very sexy. I think it makes a guys face look so much more interesting.

Dorchester recognized by 24/7 Wall St.
dbar opened in Dorchester in 2005 to cater to the growing LGBT community
Recently 24/7 Wall Street named Dorchester the 5th “hottest” neighborhood in the United States. For those unfamiliar with Boston, Dorchester is one of the city’s largest neighborhoods and was a traditional Irish enclave, but in recent years many other ethnic groups have settled here because of its more affordable rents and proximity to downtown.
While my neighborhood, the South End, is often thought of as Boston’s gay neighborhood, everyone knows that many gay men started leaving the South End more than a decade ago for Dorchester. Is it any wonder that Dorchester is now being recognized as one of America’s hottest neighborhoods? I think not.
