Happy Easter

Here is a throwback to the spring of 2002 when Sergio and I lived in Back Bay and our neighbor was raising “show bunnies”; you read that correctly by the way.

We figured this would be our only chance to be photographed with so many bunnies so we took the opportunity and made the most of it.

Ryan Landry and The Gold Dust Orphans may have a new theater

As I alluded to in my post last week, Development plans to replace Boston’s Ramrod Machine will include a LGBTQ theaterthe developers (SCAPE) are working with Ryan Landry and his Gold Dust Orphans to ensure that once Machine / Ramrod closes there remains theater space so this troupe of misfits can “continue their important and educational work”. Isn’t that how Ryan describes their work?

Show your support for the Orphans by coming to this public hearing

Before that can happen, much needs to be done but the first hurdle is making sure that the public supports this project and the addition of the theater. To that end, Ryan and the Orphans ask you to show up for the first public meeting to voice your support of the new theater. Drinks will be provided after the public meeting at where else but Machine. The public meeting is at 6PM on Monday, April 22nd – details about the location are shared below.

BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, exercise for your brainEach Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s brain teaser:

My thumb counts 3
My fingers count more.
Toes? Also 3
And my eyes make 4
If ever you want 5
Make sure to go two less than 7
But as far as wanting 6
It’s easy, find one fewer than four until 11
The number that I have found in this final line of sound is ___

Like riddles? Check out past week’s brain teasers.

Vintage gay

gay couple on the beachThis picture comes from gaytwogether.com, which hosts a huge number of vintage gay photographs like the ones I post each week. Above is a photo of two men enjoying time on the beach. I’m going to guess this was taken in the 1950s. Anyone else think they know when or even where this photo was taken?

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.
