BosGuy brain teaser

riddle, exercise for your brain

Sergio Each Friday morning I post a riddle to get you to think outside the box and exercise your brain. If you are stumped, share it with a friend or colleague and see if you can figure out the answer together.

I’ll confirm answers in the afternoon so don’t worry if you don’t see your comment posted right away. I want to give everyone a chance to guess.

This week’s brain teaser: I’m flat and round with eyes that can’t see. What could I possibly be?

Kill the closet: National Coming Out day

I have no idea what was the motivation / inspiration behind the 1980 pop music hit I’m Coming Out by Diana Ross, but I can’t think of a more appropriate song. The lyrics, intent and emotion match exactly how I felt after I came out and make it the perfect song to share on National Coming Out Day.

I can’t help but think if we were contemporaries, I would’ve enjoyed knowing these two men. Rarely are vintage gay photographs so provocative.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Brady Bunch reboot: ‘Where’s Alice?’

humor, friends, InstagramSergio and I had friends over this past weekend and after a few glasses of wine had been poured, we started having fun with Instagram. And this was the end result. Looking through the photos the following day, I started to arrange them as shown above, and I couldn’t help but think this could make for a funny modern day reboot of the Brady Bunch.

BostonI don’t know much about this Boston-based photographer other than he takes beautiful photos of Boston and clearly has a passion for cars, because his Instagram feed is chock-full of both. I’m more partial to the night shots of Boston like this one of the Zakim Bridge shot at night.

Addicted to Serial podcast season 3

SERIAL Season 3 Episode 1 || Artwork by Melody Newcomb

The podcast series SERIAL is back again with a third season and it seems as if they’e found their mojo again. Simply put, I’m hooked. The third season focuses on everyday cases in the criminal justice system in Cleveland and after listening to a couple of these episodes, I hope this season can brings as much attention to the everyday life of our criminal justice system as season one did for Adnan Sayed from season one.

If you think about it, if our criminal justice system was working as it should movements like Black Lives Matter and #MeToo would have never surfaced. And if we can’t or don’t improve our criminal justice system it is logical to assume their will be more of these movements and they will continue to grow. I know that there are a lot of very good people who work in the criminal justice system and their efforts go unheralded, but much more needs to be done. If you feel the same, download the podcast series and check it out.
