Have you met my shy friend, Jesse? Funny, I’ve known him for more than 15 years, and in that time I’ve never known him to have a girl. 😉

10 years ago today Massachusetts State Supreme Judicial Court ruled that a ban on gay marriage is discriminatory and unconstitutional. Opponents made doomsday predictions about how this would harm traditional marriage and lead to problems with children raised in same-sex households. Â History has proven those arguments were nothing more than barely concealed homophobic rantings. Â
I would imagine the fact that the very, very gay friendly state of Massachusetts having the lowest divorce rate per capita in the United States is a very inconvenient truth for those who continue to oppose same sex marriage on the basis that it harms the institution of marriage.

I love these unscientific survey and I hope you do too. GROWLR has recently issued a list of their top ‘bearish’ cities in the US. Â I was surprised to see that Atlanta topped the list and skinny Los Angeles was ranked 4th — really?
I would’ve expected gay meccas like San Francisco and NYC topping the list and colder cities like Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Detroit all ranking higher.

Boston Spirit Magazine appears to have redesigned their website if you’ve not visited them recently, check out bostonspiritmagazine.com.
They have now added a blog feed featuring articles from national LGBT blogs, photos from recent events around New England and an updated events section. Â If you get a chance shoot Boston Spirit Magazine and congratulate them on their newly designed website.
Did you know that half of all Americans support a law banning job discrimination against gays and lesbians, according to a recent HuffPost/YouGov poll?  Interestingly, that same poll also found that even more Americans falsely believe it is already illegal nationally to fire somebody for being gay.  Sadly that isn’t true. Only 16 states (those in yellow above) make it illegal to fire someone because they are gay.
Today the Employment Nondiscrimination Act (ENDA) came one step closer to becoming law when the US Senate voted 64 to 32 in its favor. House Republicans, including Speaker John Boehner continue to oppose this legislation. Is it any wonder that LGBT voters disproportionately support Democrats?  It is self-preservation.
Two weeks from today Boston Spirit Magazine will be hosting a Post-DOMA financial summit to review and discuss tax implications, family and estate questions, and offer important investment advice.
This free summit has proven to be so popular that it is completely full, but they are looking to add a second night. Â If you would be interested in attending this free program, you are encouraged to add your name to the registration page and Boston Spirit Magazine will follow up to provide you meeting details and logistics for their second summit.

Theater Offensive Fundraiser: Masquerade
This past Friday I attended the Theater Offensive’s masquerade fundraiser at the Manhunt mansion in Brookline. You always know it is a good party when “Gay” Jim Clerkin from KISS 1o8 FM is spinning music for a party. Â Jim is such a sweetheart and he always seems to be surrounded by such handsome, friendly guys. #Good2BTheDJ.
Tomorrow evening is Halloween. Â It is a rather big holiday here in the US and many spend a great deal of time and effort thinking about costumes to wear.
My favorite costume from last year was the  “Binders Of Women” that mocked then Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, but while creativity is definitely appreciated be careful when choosing your costume otherwise you too can be mocked on the Internet for years to come.
Pew Research Center compiled the information above to identify what percentage of each country’s population believe that homosexuality should be accepted by society.
