It seems like every week or two I am writing about more nonstop flights being added to Boston’s Logan Airport. Earlier this fall I shared that Delta Airlines had made Boston its newest hub, then there was news that American Airlines was adding nonstop service to London and last week I shared that in 2020 Austrian Airways would be adding nonstop service to Vienna and Lufthansa would begin nonstop service to Munich.
This past Saturday, Cabo Verde Airlines announced that they will launch a second weekly flight between Boston and Cape Verde, Africa. The airline currently flies between Boston and Praia, Cape Verde on Mondays but starting December 14th it will have flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The nonstop flight is approximately seven hours.
Cape Verde, is a nation on a volcanic archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa known for its Creole Portuguese-African culture and numerous beaches. Its largest island, Santiago, is home to the current capital, Praia. Since the early 1990s, Cape Verde has been a stable representative democracy, and remains one of the most developed and democratic countries in Africa. Thinking of planning a trip? Below I’ve shared approximately 50 different LGBTQ events, parties and shows taking place this week. Events this week range from Monday night’s Boston Gay Men’s Book Club meet up to Tuesday’s Lip Sync Battle where the winner will get Madonna tickets to GayDodgeball Open Play and A Drag Queen Christmas “The Naughty Tour” both on Thursday.
This weekend Ptown hosts Mr. New England Leather Weekend but if you’re staying in Boston don’t worry, there are a ridiculous amount of parties planned (see below for the full list). If you’re looking for options to bars and nightclubs you can always check out Drag Queen Story Hour Saturday afternoon or stop by later that night when the bookstore hosts Queer Board Game Night and for those looking for something truly different check out Naked Yoga for Men this Sunday (classes fill quickly and you must pre-register with the group to be able to attend).

Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles now provides drivers with a third gender option to choose from. The option, “X,” is available for people to select who don’t identify as male or female.
This past Tuesday, during Transgender Awareness Week, Massachusetts state registry of motor vehicles (RMV) started offering residents a non-binary gender designation option for their driver’s licenses and ID cards. This was done as part of a system upgrade at the RMV and makes Massachusetts one of approximately a dozen states in the United States to recognize a third, non binary gender.
Almost on cue Massachusetts GOP Chairman Jim Lyons called this insane and railed against the change. I can appreciate there are people who’s heads spin at the idea of non-binary, but I don’t understand the need to make sure their point of view supersedes others or how decisions like this by the State of Massachusetts impact Mr. Lyons and those who agree with him. It seems like the same failed logic that was applied to opposing same sex marriages.
Look at the size of this guy’s legs? I wonder if they got so huge from all the dreams he must be running through every night.

Austrian Airlines which is part of the Lufthansa Group announced new nonstop service between Boston and Vienna will start March 29, 2020. The airline will initially operate four weekly flights between Boston and Vienna, increasing to six weekly flights by mid-April, according to the company. Lufthansa (the parent company of Australian Airlines) also announced earlier this year that nonstop service between Boston and Munich will begin in the summer of 2020.
I backpacked around Europe for a bit after college and regret that I didn’t do more when I visited Vienna and Munich. Both cities are incredibly beautiful but unfortunately, my main memory of Vienna is doing my laundry and I didn’t see much more than the beer halls of Munich while I spent the day drinking German ale, waiting for my night train to Prague. Perhaps it is time to revisit these gorgeous cities again. Below is a photo from the AIDA Cafe-Konditorei, that I pulled from this Instagram Account.
Kenneth Macpherson shown on the left was a Scottish-born novelist, photographer, critic, and film-maker. Although married to a woman he and his wife both had a series of high profile affairs. Macpherson had a relationship with cabaret singer Jimmie Daniels (shown on the right). The photo above is of the two men attending the opening of the Federal Theatre Project’s production of Macbeth (April 14, 1936)

In a little less than a month Sergio and I will be returning to Argentina so I started following this Instagram account run by the country’s tourism board. The photos showcase the beauty of Patagonia, famous attractions like Iguazu Falls as well as city life in Buenos Aires, Cordoba and elsewhere.
